Did my AP4Me and LU, plus the prelim duties. ASM Shan brought down 2 carts of snacks and asked me to fill in the gaps when I had time, so that's what I did until 8: Ring up customers and figure out how to 'stuff' the shelves. At 8, ran out of $5s and low on $1s, and THAT'S when I learned I could use #1! By now, the snacks were filled, so I filled the bags and emptied the trash. At 8:45, took my break. When I returned, I found my broom and dustpan and started sweeping. Mucked out the mats; fronted the soda. Final customer walked in at 9:30 and near close, I attempted to ring him up. 1st his check was stuck in the machine (it was slightly curled), so I hopped over to #2. Rang him up again, and had to discount the bucket to get the same final cost, lol....Machine refused to do his check; ended up doing it MANUALLY. He finally got his lumber pulled (8 2x12x16) and loaded at 10:20.

HC Kay cleaned me out at 10; I returned items to Tools, and took my trash to the hopper. Jace closed the garage door; I put up my vest and clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit: Black l/s tee, B/W sweater poncho; faded jeggings, red 'crinkle' posts

Day 15:

Day 16:

Day 17: Palm Sunday Rare Sun

Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-63044178610594306802024-03-17T18:58:00.000-07:002024-03-18T22:48:56.056-07:00BB Catch Up
We decided to get rid of our DISH, and go with ROKU. I'm also paying for Peacock, and since I wanted to watch the Oscars last week, I began paying for Paramount. I'm currently watching this season's Survivor and 2020's season of All Stars BB #2 on Paramount, and L&O SVU and Organized Crime, plus 2.5 Men on Peacock.

I just finished Week #2 in the BB house, and wow. Just....wow.

Week 1 Recap:

Here's the cast of characters:

Men:

Cody (the one who came in 2nd to Derek)

Memphis (didn't watch his season)

Tyler (surfer dude-YAY! I loved him!)

Enzo (another YAY!)

Ian (former winner-YAY!)

Kevin (LGBTQ dude)

David, who was eliminated after the 1st challenge back in 2019.

Kaysar (Middle Eastern-YAY!)

Women:

Janelle (ugh)

Bayleigh (ugh)

Da'Vonne

Keesha (didn't watch her season)

Nicole F (former winner-YAY!)

Nicole A (YAY!)

Christmas (YAY!)

Dani (Evil Dick's daughter-bleh)

Cody wins 1st HOH, puts up Keesha and Kevin. Enzo wins POV, and kept the noms the same; Keesha goes home unanimously.

I was fine with it; I don't particularly like Keesha, and Kevin was getting on my nerves for doing the EXACT opposite of what he said he was going to do....no more whining (he whined); no more passive-aggressive BS (he didn't know how to approach Cody, to build a relationship).

There's also a new twist for the next 3 weeks: The Safety Suite. Janelle and Kaysar got wind they might be put up, so they both competed. K won, and named J his 'plus 1'. J had to wear a sparkly yellow star outfit for her punishment, but they were both safe, hence the K and K noms.

Week 2:

Memphis wins HOH and nominated Nicole A and David. He also won POV, so noms stay the same. Nicole is voted out, 10-2.

Safety Suite: Several played, and Christmas won, with Ian as her Plus 1. He ended up having to act out several scenes over and over from a BB space drama as his punishment.
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-30631700627527954392024-03-11T20:56:00.000-07:002024-03-17T18:33:34.721-07:00Life In Lumber: Y6, W3
Day 9: Cool; mid 50s

Arrived and took over for Alice, who was in for Kem. Was busy for 2 hours, then did the prelim duties. One customer had two carts and argued with me over how many deck boards he had; I finally let it go and finished ringing him up. Swept the place thoroughly; HC Shel R sent me to lunch at 6:20. Returned and pulled trash, did my LU and AP4Me, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers and coffee bar. Keith came in and bought me a candy bar. Locked the doors at 10 while Jace brought in the concrete and took the trash to the hopper. Closed the garage door, and after HC Kay cleaned me out, returned items to Hardware, Seasonal, and Shop Vacs. Bought D a KIND bar, myself a Bueno, three pairs of Eclipse glasses, and paid for the Dasani I swiped last week.

Outfit: Bless This Mess sweatshirt, new dark jeggings, small blue/white buttons

Day 10: Mid-60s

Arrived and took over for Alice on #2; Pro Kath was ringing up a customer whose card wouldn't work. By the time I was finished with my line, the customer was MIA; Kath had left; the cart full of bagged items was still there. I just left it alone and hopped back over to #1. Ran out of $1s around 5:30, but didtn't get them until after 8pm. Did my LU and the prelim duties, then Dawson sent me to break at 6:40. Returned and began sweeping, plus mucked the mats. Pulled trash around 8:30 and sanitized the registers, counters, and coffee bar. Tuned in to 'Between The Brians' for a bit. Locked the doors at 10 and after HC Kay cleaned me out, returned items to Fashion Bath, Hardware, and ISLG. Clocked out at 10:30.

Talked the hubby into taking me to Denny's!

Outfit: B/gray leopard stripe, new dark jeggings, gold 'Celtic Knot'.

Tomorrow and Thurs: GSH Vendor Fair!

Day 11: Mid-50s

Shift began on a rocky note. HC Hannah said #1 was acting up, so I showed her how to reboot the system. Went to ring up Customer #1 and was shocked to find the 7/16 OSB had shot up $2 more! Tried to lower it, and couldn't get the o/r to cancel. So hopped back over to #1 and rang 'em up again....and could only take 50% plus the change off w/o an o/r. Then had a customer with a bad leg come in; I arranged for ASM Charlie to get his boards while he went up front for a scooter and some hardware and stain. He couldn't thank me enough! Next customer was a sour puss.

An hour later, I needed an o/r on paint, and the line began to back up. Hopped over to Pro Jer's register to handle the CC transactions, then one needed to pay cash, so hopped over to #2 as I saw ASM Charlie arrive. I ended up taking care of 3 customers; C took care of 2 more. He logged off; I went back to #1. Did the prelim duties and my LU, then discovered my broom and dustpan were MIA. Fronted the soda, then at 8:15 when Amy arrived, we had another rush. Took my break at 8:45, plus emptied the coffee and retrieved a roll of the large trash bags. Returned and pulled trash, found my broom and dustpan, and began sweeping. Locked the doors at 10, and after HC Shelby cleaned me out, took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Paint, Hardware, and Flooring. Put up my vest and clocked out at 10:35.

Outfit: Red turtleneck, faded jeggings, gold 'knots'.

Day 12: Rare Sat Mid 60s

First of all, let me say I got up waaaaay too early (8am), and didn't take a nap. Arrived and joined Austin, then my earring fell out of my ear. I'd lost the back, so out them in my pocket. Even swept the general area; no luck. Rang up Customer #1, no problem. Customer #2, the printer malfunctioned, and I was forced to jump to #2. Then a customer arrived with $15 paint, which needed an o/r. I activated #3 to help a customer while HC Shelby finished up with the customer on #1. Got snippy with Jared when he kept moving the carts. I'd deliberately shoved them over so I could get in and out of #2 without tripping or hitting my butt on a cart. Was so darn busy that 8pm arrived before it slowed down. Did the prelim duties and fronted the soda, and swept. Realized HC Shel had forgotten my break by 9, so I asked Brighton to cover me while I took a pit stop and cleaned out the coffee dispenser (Loader E had called in). Returned and pulled trash; discovered HC Shelby had FIXED the printer issue on #1, so was happy to be back on it for the final hour, even though I only had two customers. Got the place swept; the registers, counters, and coffee bar sanitized, and wiped down the soda cooler. Locked the doors at 9:55, and after HC Shel cleaned me out and Brighton brought in the concrete, I closed the garage doors and took the trash to the hopper. Returned items to Hardware and put up my vest. Clocked out at 10:35.

Royally got ASM SCH: One of the night shift workers asked him if he'd ever told anyone he used to be a woman in Mississippi. While we were laughing, I turned around and asked, "More specifically, does your WIFE know?" The others laughed and told me 'good one!" Scott replied, "Don't encourage them!"

Outfit: Blue Whitehorse sweatshirt, faded jeggings, yellow posts.

Day 13: Rare Sun Mid-40s

Arrived and found Marilyn ready to head home, ha ha....apparently it had been a zoo until 4. I hopped on #2 and rang up a few customers, and brought in carts, and checked the trash. Put the larger items that were behind the counter on a cart and pushed them into the Lumber aisle, so I could reach the trash can. M left at 5; I was fairly steady for an hour. Had one weird thing happen: Lady paid me in $20s; I gave her $18 back: A $10, a $5, and three $1s. She walks out the door, turns around, and says I didn't give her a $10. I was positive I had, but I called down to see if they wanted to audit my drawer, check the cameras, or what. They ended up checking the cameras, while I rang up several more customers, and in the end, the camera clearly showed I'd given her a $10 bill. Where it went after that, who knows....I looked under the tool cart, behind the water....nada. She went on her merry way, and things slowed down. Did the prelim duties and fronted the soda...then did the soda count. Did my LU. At 8, locked the doors and checked out my final customer, then had to stop another from coming in. HC Kay cleaned me out; Loader Charlie brought in the concrete; Jace took my tiny amount of trash to the hopper. I put away the soda and put up my vest. Clocked out at 8:35.

Outfit: Pug Crawlin' St. P's Day tee, l/s black tee, faded jeggings, sparkly shamrocks.

Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-52507145893271785812024-03-04T20:11:00.000-08:002024-03-10T18:28:40.202-07:00Life In Lumber: Y6, W2
Day 3: mid 70s

Arrived and took over for Kem. In between customers, worked on the closing duties. Had an irritating thing happen; customer arrived with paneling and announced ASM SW had authorized the price match. However, HC Shel refused to honor it, since S was in the manager's meeting, and by the time I made contact with him via Messenger, he'd already left. I even flagged down new ASM Shan, but she refused, saying it was SW's responsibility. So now we had an irate customer, who even contacted the other store's manager, but HC Shel refused. Customer paid for drinks and left. I finally got the prelim duties done by 5 and started on the soda count. Had it finished by 6:15, when Austin sent me to my break. Came back and things had slowed, so did my AP4Me and LU, then was busy again. Didn't have time to sweep or sanitize; Austin brought the soda down, so in between customers, I was stocking the coolers. Also pulled trash. Finished stocking the coolers at 8:30 and finished pulling the trash. Locked the doors at 9 when HC Shel cleaned me out, then waited for ASM Charlie to bring the hopper. Tossed in the trash; ASM Ian brought in the concrete. Closed the door and returned items to Plumbing and Millwork, then put up my vest, cleaned out the carafe, took a pit stop, and returned items to Hardware. Took the paperwork to CS, then set my purse and water on the counter and returned the carafe to Lumber. Clocked out at 9:25. District is due in the morning.

Outfit: Beige sweatshirt, new faded jeggings, silver sea horses

Day 4: Rain, mid-60s

Arrived to find K discounting yesterday's paneling one at a time. Apologized to customer for not trying to do that yesterday. Took over for her and was busy for 2 hours, then did the prelim duties and fronted the soda. Was told my break would be at 7, but by 7:15 I needed a pit stop, so ASM Charlie watched the register, I no sooner returned then HC Shel arrived. Afterward, I pulled trash and sanitized the registers and coffee bar. Locked the doors at 9, and after ASM Charlie brought in the concrete, took the trash to the hopper and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

District didn't show up.

Outfit: Black/gray LS tee, new faded jeggings, silver and turquoise danglies

Off tomorrow to take Mom to pick up her glasses!

Day 5: Cloudy; mid 50s

Arrived and spotted a dustpan! Confiscated it and took over for K. Was busy for 2 hours, then did the prelim duties, then began sweeping. At 7:30, Madi arrived to relieve me, then asked if I'd done the soda count. So I quickly did #2's coolers, then turned it over to her. Had an enjoyable lunch, then returned and did my LU, then began mucking the mats. HC Britt brought the soda; I put it away. Final customer left at 9. Locked the doors; Loader Charlie brought in the concrete and took my trash to the hopper as HC Britt cleaned me out. Returned an item to Aisle 10, then put up my vest and took the extra soda (Madi didn't realize the Coke cooler only held 4 per row, not 5) back, then took our busted Spider stool and a box of busted primer to RTM.

K had told me before she left that she was scheduled to leave at 12:30 the next day; I wasn't scheduled until 5. Brought it to ASM SC's attention, and he okayed me to come in at 12:30 tomorrow. Whoot! More hours! Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit: Black/white new sweater, new faded jeggings, black vest, silver stars

Day 6: Rain, 50s

Arrived at 12:30 to a) discover my appearance was a shock and b) everyone was in a tizzy over the 75% clearance items! Also heard several customers ask me, "what are you doing here so early?" LOL...took my 1st break at 2:30, since Alice's was at 3. Ate a lunchable, since I was hungry, and D had dropped off 8 more. Returned and Alice mildly ticked me off by asking how long I'd been gone. *eye roll* She claimed she was bored....when she was gone, I fronted the soda, brought in the carts, and straightened the papers on the coolers.

She left at 5, so I started the prelim duties, only to be told by HC Shel to go take my lunch. Spent the 1st 20 minutes shopping and taking the items to my car. When I returned an hour later, did the prelim duties and started sweeping. HC Britt sent me to my 2nd break at 7:15, and when I returned, sanitized the registers and coffee bar, and pulled trash. Final customer left at 9; locked the doors. Loader Charlie brought in the concrete and the final carts; I closed the garage door. After HC Britt cleaned me out, took the trash to the hopper, returned an item to Plumbing, and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:35.

HC Shel ticked me off after lunch: 1) she wasn't going to honor the 75% for everything, then I talked her into it; 2) she had refused to let one of my customers use his Pro card, b/c he didn't have his ID on him, therefore robbing him of his 5% off.

SM Jeff told me he approved my time off for the NYC trip! Whoot!

Found out Keri in Fulfillment is taking over ASM Shan's DS spot, while HC Shel is taking Keri's old Fulfillment Lead slot. We also trained a new HC, Shelby R.

Outfit: Palm tree sweatshirt, new faded jeggings, diamond studs

Day 7: Rare Sat Cloudy, 40s.

Arrived and took over for Austin; was fairly busy for 2 hours. Did my LU and the prelim duties, then began sweeping. One customer ticked me off: Asked for some foam board; I told him aisle 49. He asked if someone could get one for him; I stated they were fairly light, and in aisle 49. He asked again if someone was available to help him; I told him Jax was on his lunch break, but I would try to find someone. Fortunately, Jared walked in with carts, so I flagged him down and had HIM take the customer back to aisle 49. A few moments later, the customer arrived, carrying his one board. I refrained from making a snarky comment! HC Britt sent me to break at 8:30, and I ate 3 slices of pizza, then took two more with me back to Lumber. Things slowed waaaaay down; only had 2 customers between 9-10. Did the soda count; mucked the mats; sanitized the registers, counters, and coffee bar; put away the soda. Jeffrey brought in the concrete and took my trash to the hopper; I locked the doors and returned items to Tools, Plumbing, Appliances, and Seasonal. Clocked out at 10:50.

Outfit: Mama Bear sweatshirt, new dark jeggings, small gold hoops

Day 8: Rare Sun Mid 40s

Arrived to discover I wasn't supposed to be there until 5, but clocked in anyway, which turned out to be a good thing, b/c Lunber was slammed. Marilyn left at 5 and things calmed down a little. Did my LU and the prelim duties, swept the area, and fronted all the soda. Learned our HC went home sick, so Matt was in her shoes. At 7, I asked one of the other associates to watch my register while I took a pit stop, then continued to ring up customers. Pulled trash at 7:30, and locked the doors at 8 after the last customer. While I waited for Conrad to come down, had to shoo away a customer who didn't know we closed at 8! HC Shelby R cleaned me out, then Conrad brought in the concrete. Waited until Barry was finished bringing in all the carts, then closed the garage door and put up my vest. Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit: Hot cocoa sweater, new dark jeggings, gold studs
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-57313931906923727722024-03-03T10:50:00.000-08:002024-03-16T21:28:49.153-07:00March Goals
Did everyone enjoy the extra day in February this year? Y6, W1
Day 222: 70s!

Arrived and took over for Pro Kathy, and was busy for the first half hour. Customer came in, then a few minutes later walked back up, with ASM SC, ASM Ian, and Pro Jeremy. Turned out, he'd cut himself, not badly, on a sheet of plywood, and had called an ambulance (eye roll-the guy wasn't even BLEEDING profusely!) The paramedics bandaged him up, and he and his family commenced shopping. At 5pm, things slowed, and I did the prelim duties. I had also asked Loader C to locate my mop, broom, and dustpan, which he did not do. Things ebbed and flowed, and at 6:30, HC Shelby sent me to lunch. Returned 30 mins later and did my LU and AP4Me, PLUS went down and found my dustpan and broom! Spot-swept, mucked the mats, pulled trash, and locked the doors at 9. When HC Shel cleaned me out, took the trash down and returned items to Millwork, Electrical, Aisle 10, and Hardware. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: B/W LS tee, black vest, dark jeggings, emerald set

Day 223: 70s!

Arrived and took over for Cindy, who informed me Kassidy was fired, due to getting caught vaping in the Fullfillment area. Was busy for the first 90 mins, then started the prelim duties and filled out the soda sheet. Around 5:30, did my LU. Madi sent me to lunch at 7, and when I returned, pulled trash and started spot-sweeping. Filled the soda coolers and locked the doors at 9. HC Kay cleaned me out; I took the trash to the hopper and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: B/W poncho, red V-neck LS tee, dark jeggings, ruby studs

Beginning Year 6!

Day 1: 30s....ugh

Arrived and took over for Pro Kathy. Saw a 2 y/o Norwegian Elkhound! Forgot my hearing aids, and misunderstood a tax exempt account, and ended up sending him to CS. Alice left at 4, and the place died, so did the prelim duties and spot-swept. Did my LU at 5 and brought in carts from the sidewalk. Met the new loader, Ethyn. Ran out of $1s and HC Hannah brought them at 6, then sent me to lunch. When I returned, had a 'rush'. Fronted the soda, pulled trash at 7:30, and dusted the top of the ice machine, the soda coolers, the coffee bar, and all counters. At 9, locked the doors. HC Kay cleaned me out; ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; I took the trash to the hopper, then returned items to Electrical. Put up my vest and clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Blue crewneck Cabella's sweatshirt, dark jeggings, LJs, pink TAB cans

Am off the next 4 days, with the exception of the mandatory store meeting on Sunday:)

Day 2: Store Meeting on Sunday

Arrived and clocked in, then went to Receiving and sat with Amy, Kerrie, and Marilyn. Ate a hamburger, chips, and honeydew, and drank water. Learned ASM SC is taking over Gareth's spot over Pro!! ASM Shan is taking SC's slot over the front end. Whoot! Not the toxic manager that was rumored!!!!

Won a hand gun case in the drawing and we were are given T-shirts, travel coffee cups, keychains, pins, and hats (I declined mine).

Was good to see people I don't get to see regularly....Adrianna, Pam, and some of the other day shift people.
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-7110754281024288112024-02-19T19:51:00.000-08:002024-02-24T20:14:19.286-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W52
Day 218: Temps mid 40s

Arrived and hugged Pro Jeremy, since he lost his brother last week in a tragic accident. Took over for Alice, and was busy for 30 mins, then did the prelim duties, fronted the soda, did my AP4Me and LU, then started my yearly LSR refresher course. Didn't finish until 7:45, due to ringing up customers. HC Kay sent me to break, and when I returned, swept the area, pulled the trash, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers. Locked the doors at 9. ASM Shan cleaned me out; I walked her up front and returned items to Paint and Hardware, then went back, put the trash in the hopper (Jase had already brought in the concrete), and put up my vest. Then didn't remember if Shan had gotten the paperwork, so went back down, and retrieved it. Clocked out at 9:25.

Also got an 'atta girl' email from ASM Shannon, since my 5 year anniversary is next week.

Outfit: Blue striped sweater, faded jeggings, LJs, blue filigree danglies

Day 219: Temps Mid 50s

Arrived and took over for Marilyn, who was puzzled by a glitch in the system when a customer tried to use his card. Backed out of the screen and had him redo it; worked fine. She was happy to be out of there! After the line was done, did the prelim duties, then was slammed until after 5. Fronted soda and did the count, then took the Monster count. Began sweeping, then was busy again. HC Kay sent me to break at 7 and when I returned, put away the soda and did my LU, plus requested off my April Choir dates. Sanitized the counters and coffee bar and pulled trash. Locked the doors at 8:55. HC Kay cleaned me out; Loader C brought in the concrete, then took my trash to the hopper. Put up my vest and paid for my GS cookies from Theresa. Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit: Brown blouse, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, brown cluster danglies

Day 220: Temps in the mid-60s!

Arrived and took over for Kem. Rider sent me to break at 7, but before I could leave, had to double-check the price of a door AND find the 23/32nds plywood for a customer. Finally clocked out at 7:20. After I returned, finished sweeping, mucked the mats, pulled the trash, and sanitized the registers. Final customer left after 9, then I cleaned out the coffee pot, put up my vest, and returned an item to Hardware. Went up and asked if they knew we were closed; they looked surprised, but headed up front to join the rest of their family. I locked the doors and shut the large door after C finished. Returned items to Tools, Hardware, and Plumbing. Was busy for an hour, then things slowed down. Did the prelim duties, checked my mail, sent a reminder to Holly, Shannon, and Scott about Wed, did my AP4Me and LU, and fronted the soda. Began sweeping around 6:30. HC Kay sent me to break at 7:30 and when I returned, finished sweeping, pulled the trash, and helped Brighton with a VSP. Mucked the mats and sanitized the registers. Cleaned #1's counter, due to someone having a leaky bag of concrete or grouting. Locked the doors at 9 and returned items to Seasonal and Tools, then went back to Lumber and opened the large door so Jace could bring in the concrete. Took my trash to the hopper. After J was done, took the cardboard down, then returned items to Electrical and hung up my vest. Clocked out at 9:35.

Outfit: Gray hooded sweatshirt, new dark jeggings, LJs, red beaded danglies

Off the next two days to go to Lafayette:)

Day 215:

Arrived to find out Val can't sub for me on Sat. At the end of the shift, HC Kay got a hold of Dawson, who agreed to switch with me. So I'm working for him tomorrow, and he'll work Sunday. Took over for Alice, then did the prelim duties. Did my LU, and swept the place. Pulled trash at 7:30, then got sent to break. Came back and Val left me some pistachios! Fronted the soda, sanitized the coffee bar. Locked the doors at 9, and checked out my final customer. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; I took the trash to the hopper. HC Kay cleaned me out; returned items to Plumbing, Millwork, Lights, Appliances, and Hardware. Gas pains hit; around 5:45 called down and asked if Austin could relieve me. He arrived after I rang up 3 more customers, then escaped to the bathroom. Returned a few minutes later, and the place had died down. Did the prelim duties and my LU, then swept the area. HC Britt sent me to break at 7:30, and when I returned, pulled trash and finished sweeping. Sanitized the registers and coffee bar, and locked the doors at 9. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete and took my trash to the hopper. Put up my vest and went up front; ASM SC said he has my 5 year badge on his desk:) I'll get it tomorrow. Did the prelim duties and worked up a soda count, intending to fill it before D left, but a crowd arrived. Helped Matt with a credit app and VSP. Did my LU. Swept the place, and brought in carts from the sidewalk. Amy sent me to break at 7; I took the coffee pot back with me and cleaned it out. Returned and mucked out the mats, pulled trash, sanitized the registers, and had to dismantle the coffee bar to wipe it down, since someone had spilled coffee UNDER the containers. Locked the doors at 9. When HC Britt cleaned me out, took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Tools, Plumbing, Aisle 12, and Hardware. Put up my vest, then went up front. ASM SC gave me my 5 year patch:) Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Dark gray IN sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, red head wrap, blue fingerless gloves, thin gold hoop and diamond thin gold hoop

Off tomorrow to work the Paint-n-Sip fundraiser for the NYC trip!
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-59804933108044398752024-02-07T07:08:00.000-08:002024-03-03T10:50:25.186-08:00February's GoalsWas it just me, or did January seem to drag on fooooreeeevaaaaahhhh? Arrived and took over for Cori, then did the prelim duties and began sweeping. Did my LU and AP4Me, then had a string of customers which kept me busy for about an hour. Had everything swept by 7, and HC Kay sent me to break at 7:15. Returned and fronted the soda, then pulled trash, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers. Final customer was at 8:50. Locked the doors at 9 and while HC Kay was cleaning out the drawers, took the trash down. Returned items to Tools and Electrical. Found out Loader A leaves later this week...boo!!! Clocked out at 9:15.

Outfit: Black v-neck tunic, yellow plaid vest, new faded jeggings, LJs, teal green rock danglies

Off tomorrow, unless I get called in. Paul A said he'd stop by to rummage through the brown house, but not holding my breath. He's told me so many times he'll be by, and has only been by once. I'll believe it when I see it.

Day 209:

Arrived; Alice was ringing up a customer on #2; Pro Kath was ringing up Corey on #1. I brought in a few carts, then hopped on Pro J's register to ring up 2 customers until the others were finished. Did the prelim duties, rang up customers, and swept. Loader C was stressed, due to being pulled in 2 directions, and couldn't find a spotter. He finally found one, only to be told by the customer, "I'm tired of waiting. I'm going home." HC Shel sent me to break at 7:30 and when I returned, finished sweeping, pulled trash, and sanitized the coffee bar. Final customer was at 8:40, so locked the left door. Locked the right one at 8:55 and returned items to Hardware, Paint, and Plumbing after walking HC Shel up front. Loader C took the hopper and brought in the concrete; I took a drip edge down to Aisle 52 and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

One of my customers donated $20 to my NCY fund:)

They've also revamped our break room. New snack kiosk, plus cameras. Discovered we're getting rid of our 'library'....boo.

Outfit: Lavandar sweater, black vest, new faded jeggings, LJs, tropical danglies

Day 210: Mid-50s!

Arrived and took over for Alice, did the prelim duties. Had several large orders, then the place died. Swept half of the area, then did my LU and checked my mail. We're getting a discretionary bonus in March, on top of the Winning Together (if they pay it out....fingers crossed!). Helped Loader Charlie with a credit app (customer was approved!). Swept the rest of the area, then HC Hannah sent me to break at 7:15. Came back and mucked out the mats, then pulled trash. Fronted soda, sanitized the coffee bar. Locked the doors at 8:55 after final customer left. HC H cleaned me out; I took the trash to the hopper. Jeffrey brought in the concrete, then I put up my vest. Played Plinko for the 2 credit apps I got 2 weeks ago, winning $8 in Lowes Bucks. Game goes through the end of the month, then we 'cash' them in for whatever. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Burgundy cowl neck sweater, new dark jeggings, silver chains.

Day 211: 65 degrees!

Arrived and had to help a customer before I even got to the register. Had barely logged on when my 1st customer arrived; barely had time to say goodbye to Alice. Gathered the paperwork and her trash, then was slammed for the next 2 hours. HC Britt asked me to do soda; finished it around 8. Rider brought it at 8:15 and sent me to break; when I returned, I finished pulling the trash and putting away the soda. Final customer left at 8:55 with 50 2x4s. Locked the side doors, then Steve brought in the concrete. Returned items to Tools and Aisle 10. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Blue fleece jacket, white v-neck tunic, new dark jeggings, green studs

Day 212: Rare Sat

Arrived early and got my LU out of the way. Marilyn took a pit stop; Pro Kath asked me to empty the coffee. M returned; I took care of the coffee. M left at 5:30; I did the prelim duties and rang up customers for an hour, then began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30, and mucked the mats, plus sanitized the coffee bar. Final customer left at 8:55. After HC Britt cleaned me out, returned items to Plumbing and Flooring. ASM Charlie took my trash to the hopper and brought in the concrete.

Got a compliment: Customer A asked me how I stayed cheerful (he witnessed a customer who didn't understand the concept of 'minimum payment'), and they one behind him said "She's like that all the time! We shop here a lot and she's always got a smile on her face and something nice to say."

I thanked him, then told his wife:

-I don't have to hear 'Mo-om'

-I don't have to put up with a grumpy spouse

-I don't have to fix dinner, or clean up

-Lumber is my 'Happy Place'.

She hi-fived me:)

Clocked out at 9:35.

Outfit: Mama Bear sweatshirt, new dark jeggings, LJs, small gold filigree hoops

Day 213: Rare Sun Super Bowl Sunday

Arrived and took over for Austin, who did the soda count and filled it, then took his break and brought in carts. Things were fairly steady until 5, when I did the prelim duties, did my LU, swept the entire area, and pulled trash at 5:30. At 6, I discovered my Kindle wouldn't load Paramount, so downloaded the app to my phone just in time for the pre-game stuff. Dawson sent me to break at 6:15; I watched Post Malone sing God Bless America (he did a good job!) and Reba sing the Nat'l Anthem (slightly twangy, but it's Reba!), and the coin toss. Returned, and ASM Alex walked in. I assured him I'd still take care of the customers; he said, "It's the Super Bowl...." and left the area. Had maybe ten customers between 6:30-8. Locked the doors at 7:55 and let out Loader Jax at 8. HC Hannah cleaned me out; I put up my vest and we watched the Halftime Show with Usher, Alicial Keys, Lil' Jon, Will I Am, and Ludacris. I brought in some carts before the show began, and finished watching in my car after clocking out at 8:30.

Outfit: Teal green l/s tee, black vest, new dark jeggings, LJs, green 'space ship' danglies
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-23700265582116791122024-01-29T19:07:00.000-08:002024-02-03T19:07:57.241-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W49
Day 204:

Was asked to come in at 2, so arrived and took over for Kem. Alice and I traded off ringing up customers, and I took a brief pit stop at 3:45, knowing she was leaving at 4. Patty arrived at five after to send me to lunch. Came back at 5 and did the prelim duties, then began sweeping. Had the mats mucked by 7, and the registers sanitized by 8. Pulled trash, then had Sage watch the register so I could make another pit stop and add water to my cup. Sanitized the counters, locked the doors at 9, and returned items to Plumbing and Millwork. Brought in the discounted concrete while Loader A was bringing in the concrete pallets. After he brought the hopper back, I closed the garage door and put up my vest. Good shift, but then had to defrost the car before I could leave the parking lot.

Outfit: Mama Bear sweatshirt, dark jeggings, LJs, crystal studs

Day 205:

Arrived at 4:30; Alice took a pit stop. After she left at 5, I did the prelim duties, and began sweeping around 5:30. Was mucking out the mats by 7, and pulled trash when I came back from my break around 7:45. Shift was nice and steady and went fast tonight. ISLG Chris began painting the break room a slight neon green. Final customer left at 9; I locked the doors behind them. HC Shel cleaned me out; took the trash to the hopper, then had to let out another customer who'd bought a shower. Clocked out at 9:20.

Outfit: White cable sweater, dark jeggings, LJs, Yukon Tartan buttons.

Day 206:

Arrived and took over for Alice, did the prelim duties, then SM J asked me to do my LU. Told him I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong; he had me bring up the screen and showed me what to click on. Waited until Pro J left so I could do it on his register, so did that around 6. Was fairly steady, and did the soda list. Went to break at 7 and when I returned, started sweeping, then got busy with customers. Finally pulled trash at 8:30, did a cursory sweep, then sanitized the registers. Mucked out the mats, then locked the doors at 8:55. Walked HC Shel up front, then took the trash to the hopper, returned a water bottle up front, and put up my vest. Was fairly steady until 6:30, when I began sweeping. Did my LU, and requested off my April dates. Amy sent me to break at 7:30, and when I returned, finished sweeping, then pulled trash. Mucked out the mats and sanitized the registers. Locked the doors at 8:55 and fronted the soda. HC Shel cleaned me out, then opened the large door so ASM SC could bring in the concrete. Took over for Alice, did the prelim duties, and noticed my dustmop had returned, but not the dustpan, and the tiny white one was also MIA! Went ahead and swept, confident I could find SOMETHING to sweep it into. Did my AP4Me and LU. Was fairly steady between 5:30-7, then things tapered off again. Rang up a LARGE VSP order. #1 decided to go haywire for a moment, so shut it down and rang up a customer on Pro J's while #1 rebooted, then behaved itself for the rest of the night.

Pulled trash at 8; went to break at 8:30, and found another small white dustpan to sweep up my mess into. Returned; swept up the mess; HC Shel cleaned me out. Had to wait for Jace to bring in the concrete and the OSB; didn't even LEAVE lumber until after 9:30. Returned items to Tools, Electrical, and Fashion Bath. Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit: Blue Whitehorse sweatshirt, dark jeggings, LJs, thick silver hoops

Day 201:

Arrived feeling 50% better! The place was dead, but grabbed a dustpan off the shelf (per ASM SW's advice) and took over for Alice, who was ringing up 18 bags of busted concrete. I hopped on #1 and rang up a few customers, then helped her with the count. When she left, did the prelim duties and rang up more customers. Austin brought down the soda; I filled it around 7. Pulled trash around 8, then A sent me to break. Came back and swept the place. Loader A brought in the concrete and took the hopper around. After HC Shel cleaned me out, I shut the large door and returned items to Electrical and Hardware. Put up the 3 extra Red Bulls and clocked out at 9:25.

Amy is taking my shift on Feb 1st:)

Loader A slapped a $10 bill down to 'rent' the new dustpan....then found his, hidden within the lumber stack! Gave him back his $10, lol.....

Am off tomorrow, but plans to travel north were cancelled.

Outfit: Red hooded sweater, dark jeggings, LJs, Mickey Mouse.

Day 202:

Arrived; another slow, rainy shift. Took over for Alice; did prelim duties. Someone put an entire CASE of outside trash bags in our storage locker! Oh happy day:) Swept; fronted soda; rang up customers, brought in carts from the sidewalk, did my LU, and sanitized the registers. Austin sent me to break at 8, and when I returned, pulled the trash and cleaned off the top rack of the snacks...it was FILTHY! Locked the doors after last customer left at 9, and walked HC Shel to the front. Returned items to Paint, Lights, Electrical, and Plumbing, then took the trash to the hopper, put up my vest, and returned one more item to Flooring. Clocked out at 9:30.

When I arrived, there was a bit of drama playing out; our new guy in Tools apparently is dating HC S, and threatened her. ASM Alex had to send an email to maybe Jeff or Corporate about it.

Also, due to the rain, I needed a pit stop 30 minutes into my shift. ASM A covered it.

Outfit: Brown gauze tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, small diamond studs

Day 203:

Arrived and took over for Kem (Alice got married today!!! She NEVER told me yesterday...) and did the prelim duties, then began sweeping. Fronted soda, then ended up tallying it. Val sent me to break at 6:30; had a customer get 66 panels of drywall, plus 5 toilets and whatever else. Ran it through VSP and saved him 22%:) When I returned from lunch, finished putting away the soda; finished sweeping, then mucked the mats, sanitized the registers and counters, and pulled trash. Final customer left at 9, and locked the doors after him. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; HC Shel cleaned me out. Returned an item to Plumbing, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30. Val agreed to work for me on the 14th:) Must remember to email Holly on Mon.

Pinpad died on me 3 times, pooh. At least I didn't have a line everytime it went down! HC Britt said to press the arrow and pound at the same time to reset it, rather than pull it apart (which was how I reset it!)

Outfit: Maroon/Gold plaid, l/s black tee, dark jeggings, LJs, small diamond hoops

I'm off the weekend!!!!
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-78788959034956723592024-01-18T19:04:00.000-08:002024-01-25T19:03:07.944-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W 47
Day 199:

Went in, even though I'm a coughing, sneezing mess. Spoke with Holly about giving me a sick day on Sat, and she did! Cori was there until 4, so helped with the line, did some of the prelim duties, and scrounged up one more trash bag for the medium one. After C left, finished the prelim duties and was fairly steady. At 7:30, pulled trash....and discovered the black bags are NOT for the outside can, so put that trash back, lol! HC Kay sent me to break at 8, and when I returned, did some spot-sweeping (my dustbroom and dustpan were both MIA)). Cam brought in the concrete at 8:50, and after Loader Jax brought the rest of the carts in, went ahead and shut the large door. Jax took my trash; after HC Kay cleaned me out, returned items to Tools and Plumbing, and put up my vest. Told ASM CB, "Is it okay if I go ahead and tell you I won't be there tomorrow?" He laughed and patted me on the back. Seriously; I feel like death warmed over. When I left, I told him I was going home to drown myself in some chicken soup. He said, "Hope you feel better soon!"

Me too!

Outfit: Blue Cozy blankets sweatshirt, white turtleneck, faded jeggings, LJs, thick gold hoops

Had to call in Friday; bronchitis.

I really picked a good week to be sick; they're cutting hours at work, so was off the schedule M-W. When she left at 5, finished the prelim duties, did my LU and AP4Me, then Kelly sent me to lunch. Returned and swept, then mucked the mats and sanitized the registers. Gathered trash at 7:30 and wiped off the top of the soda cooler. Final customers left at 8:50, after applying for a credit app and being approved. Walked Cam through the process of getting their 20% discount.

After Loader A brought in the concrete, HC Kay cleaned me out. Put up my vest and clocked out at 9:40. Got pissed when ASM Shan told me to come in at 5 the rest of the week. Hopefully my funds won't be TOO affected; they had to cut 200 hours. Bleh...

Rained heavily.

Outfit: Gray/black leopard, black vest, new dark jeggings, LJs, silver hearts

Day 195:

Arrived and took over for Alice, then did the prelim duties Was fairly steady for 2 hours, then fronted the soda and did my LU and aisle blocker training. Kelly sent me to break at 6:30, and when I returned, began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30. One of my fave customers bought every damn thing on our clearance rack, so that took some time, marking it all down 75%! Sanitized the registers, mucked out the mats, and locked the doors at 8:55. HC Kay cleaned me out; ASM Charlie brought in the concrete and took the trash. I closed the garage door and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:25 and went to the gas station.

Outfit: Maroon blouse, black vest, faded jeggings, LJs, gold and diamond ovals.

Off to Lafayette tomorrow, weather permitting!!

Day 196:

Walked into a sh*t show. 1st customer, check wouldn't go through, even after HC Shel said to run it through #3. They finally ended up taking it to CS and it was approved. Then, customer wanted 130 sheets of 1/2x4x12 drywall and 63 5/8x4x12 drywall. THAT took an hour...in the meantime, another customer wanted an entire bunk of 7/16 OSB. A third man wanted 100 sheets of 1/2x4x8 drywall....but he wanted delivery, THANK GOD! Then when I went to ring up the guy with the OSB, something happened and I ended up having to rescan everything....then realized after running it through VSP, I'd forgotten the OSB! So gave him 10% off the entire thing, which was the same rate as his VSP for the other stuff. I humbly apologized and said I was way off my game tonight. After they got him loaded, another customer wanted 70 rolls of blown-in insulation. Loader A and I were both wishing at that point we'd called in! I finally started the closing duties at 8pm....and had HC Kay cover me while I took a pit stop. Swept and did my LU, and pulled trash at 8:30, but that's all. Didn't sanitize or muck the mats. After Loader A brought in the concrete, I locked the doors. HC Shel cleaned me out, and I returned items to Electrical and Aisle 10, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:35.

Went to karaoke to see if my voice was back, and it is, about 90%. Still slightly scratchy in the low tones. Randy B and Nanette showed up; there were only 3 singers, so in an hour, I sang 6 songs! Came home to a grouchy spouse.

Outfit: Bless This Mess sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, sea horses

Day 197:

Arrived to a slow day; constant rain. Did the prelim duties, then straightened up the Clearance rack. One of my favorite female realtors came in and bought a LOT of the cover plates, pissing off the customer behind her, as I knocked 75% off nearly 30 items. Everyone else was patient; the ironic thing was, when he got fed up and left, I only had 5 more items to knock down! Oh well....

Started feeling strange around 7, but attributed it to being hungry. HC Shel sent me to break at 7:15, but during my break, began dry heaving as I finished my lunchable. Went back to work, but then nausea hit me around 7:50, and had to send a customer to get someone for me, as I was afraid to stand up and use the phone; I was vomiting into the trash can. HC Shel sent me home, where I continued to be sick for the next 24 hours. Lovely. Had to call in Sat, due to not being able to be vertical longer than 30 minutes at a time.

Outfit: Gray sweater, faded jeggings, LJs, light blue studs

Day 198: Rare Sun (4 degrees!)

Arrived; everyone was happy to see me! Took over for HC Shel, and was slightly busy for a few mins, then did the prelim duties, and began sweeping. Around 4:30, I realized I was overdoing it, and sat down for a while, ringing up customers as needed. Did my LU. Swept when I felt better. HC Shel sent me break at 7, and when I returned, joked with ASM Charlie about him bringing in the trash. ASM A was with him and said, "Isn't that a Molly Job?" Charlie agreed; I stuck my tongue out at him! Put on my fleece coat and fingerless gloves and pulled it, plus brought in two carts. After locking the doors at 9, ASM Charlie brought in the concrete and declared, "It's officially cold enough to freeze grease!" He had no brakes, power steering, or controls, and blew a lot of smoke as he brought in both pallets.

We also couldn't do propane exchanges, b/c the lock was frozen.

Once I'd closed the large door again, returned items to Tools, Electrical, Flooring, and Hardware. Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit: Dark gray IN sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, dark blue studs

Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-14713690806022146482024-01-02T19:37:00.000-08:002024-01-25T19:05:23.834-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W45
Day 189: New Year's Day (3-6pm)

Arrived and tried to take over for Marilyn, but the line was long, so hopped on #2 to help. Tried to buy a calendar, but we couldn't locate D's info, so I talked Paul A into buying it for me:) After M left, did the prelim duties and my LU. Was busy the rest of the time, but did manage to pull the trash and spot-sweep (there was no time for a deep-clean!). Loader Nate brought in the concrete and took the trash; after HC Kay cleaned me out, returned items to Plumbing, Electrical, Millwork, and Hardware. Put up my vest; clocked out at 6:25.

Outfit: B/W tee, l/s black tee, new dark jeggings, LJs, antique silver and pearl danglies

Day 190:

Broke down and went to ER b/c of my left knee, and called work, to let them know I might be late or not there at all. Turns out knee is just inflamed, so I showed up at 4 and did my LU and AP4Me before heading back onto the floor (which turned out to be a GOOD decision, ha ha!) ASM Shan, SC, and Alex, along with SM J expressed surprise, then were happy nothing was seriously wrong. Just felt like a Mummy from the knees down....left one is wrapped, right one has compression socks.

Shift was good; Alice and I worked well together until she left at 5, and we restocked the Coke coolers. After she left, I did the prelim duties, then restocked the rest. Shelby sent me to break at 6:30, and when I returned, was busy. Started to pull trash around 7:30, but was interrupted by a string of customers, two having clearance items which needed o/rs. Then I had a customer whose LU card wasn't activated, and had to use 3 different catds to pay for everything. They finally got everything resolved around 8:45. Rang up my remaining 3 customers and locked the doors, then pulled the trash! Discovered my brooms were MIA, so didn't get a chance to sweep. ASM Shan cleaned me out, then I walked her up front and returned items to Hardware and Aisle 30. Returned as Jase was bringing in the concrete. Loader Jax took the trash, and I returned a final item to Millwork, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Palm tree sweatshirt, black l/s tee, new dark jeggings, LJs, blue sapphire hoops

Day 191:

Arrived and hopped on #2 to help with the line. Alice went to break; I did the soda count, then she was needed up front. Had ASM Charlie watch the register at 5 so I could make a pit stop....then again at 7:30. Never did get my break. Accidentally knocked over the Sprite pack, and sold it for $1 to one of my customers. Also printed out the QR codes I'd made at home and handed out all but 15. Hopefully, I'll earn that GC! Had lots of downtime, so managed to get ALL the closing duties accomplished, even using 3 Clorox wipes on the coffee station! After HC Shan cleaned me out, walked her up front and returned items to Hardware and Aisle 10. Came back and let in Loader A with the concrete; took my trash to the hopper, and after I closed the door, returned items to Tools and Plumbing. Clocked out at 9:20.

Outfit: Brown sweater, new dark jeggings, LJs, copper/larimar danglies

Day 192:

Arrived and sent Alice to break. Was slightly busy, esp when Corey M needed a phone sale, so had to invoice it, hop over to #2 and sign in, then back to #1 to bust the line asap. Finally got everyone rang up; went back to #2; C had the customer on the phone. Got him started, then back to #1. Needed an o/r, so called for it, then back to #2! HC Brit arrived to take care of #1 while we were finishing up on #2! Then hopped back to #1. Alice and I did a quick soda count, but she said there was no coke or Pepsi on the shelf. She left at 5; I did the prelim duties and began sweeping. HC Brit said there was soda in receiving, so I did a proper count, and when Bella sent me to lunch at 7:15, she took it down when I returned. Pulled trash, and put away all the soda HC Britt brought down. Mucked the mats and wiped down the coffee station. Locked the doors at 9; HC Britt cleaned me out while I took the trash to the hopper; Jace brought in the concrete; I shut the large door and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Red turtle, new dark jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Off Fri for the Writers Roundup at the Pantheon, and Saturday! Bella agreed to work my shift on the 24th, so I can take Mom to the hair salon. Need to email Holly on Sun.

Day 193: Rare Sun

Arrived to find out ASM Charlie had just been confronted by an angry customer. Took over for Marilyn and did the prelim duties, then was fairly busy for 2 hours. At 5:30, Dawson came down to give me my break, and when I returned, swept the area, did my LU, emailed Holly about the 24th, and pulled trash. Final customer left at 8:45, though after I locked the doors and ASM SW was cleaning me out, had 2 guys knocking on the door! I took the trash down while ASM Charlie brought in the concrete, then returned items to Plumbing, Electrical, and Hardware. Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit: Blue Christmas sweater, new dark jeggings, LJs, silver crosses
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-57342278116099058742024-01-01T09:47:00.000-08:002024-02-05T11:11:14.599-08:00Happy New Year! Was busy all the way through 8:30! Took my lunch at 5. Did the prelim duties, swept some of the floor, and pulled the trash. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; Loader A took the trash around. HC Kait cleaned me out; clocked out at 9:20.

ASM SW and I 'swapped places' after lunch, since he tried to put my vest on while I was at lunch! He and ASM Alex came down; I promptly handed the doorknobs and paint to him and told him to take them with him. Alex laughed!

Outfit: Red Sarcasm tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, silver spirals

Day 185:

Arrived and took over for Cindy; did the prelim duties, fronted the soda, and rang up a few customers. Two of them, I don't know where my brain was; guy (wearing Polo!) handed me $250; for whatever reason, I rang it up as $225, then had to have HC Kait open my drawer. Two customers later, guy hands me a $20; I rang it up as $16! Geez....I blamed the Polo, lol....anyway, went to lunch at 5 and everything went smoothly from then on. Pulled trash at 7:30; swept the floor; mucked the mats at 8:30, and locked the doors after the final customer at 9. Loader A brought in the concrete; I took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Plumbing and Fashion Bath. Clocked out at 9:30.

Took 3 doz M&M cookies and they were a hit! Did the prelim duties, and things were slow for the first 2 hours (it snowed this morning). SM J came down; I told him there were no cookies today, and he 'fired' me, ha ha! Was busy until 7, when I swept and pulled trash, then called HC Britt to see if I was getting any sort of break. Madi came down, but said she was scheduled to leave at 8, so I took a 20 min break. Afterward, I finished pulling the trash and mucked out the mats. Did my LU. Jase (newly certified) brought in the concrete at 9; I'd locked the doors after the last customer left at 8:57. When HC Britt came to clean me out, I took the trash to the hopper, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:35.

Got a compliment: Two men were checking out; I asked if they had any special NYE plans. One says, "He needs a date" and looked at me. I said I was married, and he replied, "Sorry buddy; I tried." LMAO!

Finally broke down and called Vincennes Ortho about my left knee. Right knee was acting up a little tonight also.

Outfit: Red 'Its the Most Wonderful Time Of The Year....Allegedly" tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 187:

Arrived and took over for Cindy, who was VERY HAPPY to see me:) Did the prelim duties, jokingly told SM J I 'needed rehired...with a raise!" (he laughed!), and asked ASM SC for more hours. He challenged me to get 5 surveys, but the QR code didn't work, so I just asked EVERYONE to help me out. Hopefully 5 did...I get a GC if I accomplished it! Went to lunch at 6, and when I returned, began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30, sanitized the registers and mucked the mats. Locked the doors at 8:57 and after HC Kait cleaned me out, took the trash to the hopper and put up my vest. Was fairly steady; went to break around 4:20, and when I returned, pulled trash and swept. Final customer walked in at 5:58 and left at 6. Loader Jax took the trash to the hopper; I locked the doors and ASM SW brought in the concrete. HC Kayla cleaned me out; put up my vest and returned an item to Hardware. Clocked out at 6:30, and went to BW3 for my b-day wings.

Outfit: Gold glittery shirt, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, rhinestone danglies

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-91392952373506675712023-12-21T21:13:00.000-08:002024-01-25T19:07:49.914-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W43
Day 180:

Was an hour late, due to running errands with Mom. Arrived at 5 and took over for HC A. Did the prelim duties and waited on customers, then did the soda count. Incident #1: Customer asked to cut a 4x4, and was NOT happy when both Charlie and I infomed him we're not allowed to cut those. Incident #2: Loader Jax told me there was an injured customer in Aisle 50, so I called ASM M to go investigate. Bella sent me break; I returned items to Tools, Plumbing, and Hardware, then took a pit stop. B was ringing up Neal, who was the accident victim; he'd whacked his head on plywood sticking out, and was shaky. I made sure he was okay, and told him to take things easy. Incident #4: Customer's card kept declining, even after double-checking his balance. Incident #5: Register #1 malfunctioned during all this, so hopped to #2, and it STILL happened. Invoiced all but the GC, and sent them up to CS. Unplugged the pin pad and reset it; rang up more customers on #2, then got back on #1. After a while, the customers returned, furious b/c 'Robert was rude and dropped an F-bomb'. I expressed MY shock; customer told me to have a "nice F-ing day" and stormed out. Come to find out, said customer THREW the GCs at Rob, plus threatened to take him outside, and find his house. THEN they accused his 'have a lovely day' as 'have a f-ing day' and threw their hissy fit at me. Rob emailed ASM SCH about his side of the story.

Things calmed down, then Incident #6 happened: Mr. J had crown moulding which rang up $70; he took a picture of the bin that said $15. Called HC Brit for an o/r; she called ASM SW, who said he couldn't mark it down that much, but would take off 20%, Mr. J agreed, with the stipulation SW go back and double-check the bin. SW agreed; Mr. J paid and left.

Incident #7: Discovered Gabe had left the area before HC A arrived, leaving the registers and doors unattended! His excuse? "My shift is over at 4."

Ummmmm.....no, your shift is over when your RELIEF shows up! NOT when your schedule says you're done!

I swept the area, pulled trash, and Bella took it to the hopper, plus all the cardboard. Locked the doors at 9, then waited while ASM SW brought in the concrete. Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit: Santa Tree tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings,LJs, stockings

Day 181:

Went in early to not only deliver cookies to the front end as well as SM J, but to get a few items we need, like Command Strips, 3 more pkgs of lights, and another pack of lighters. Clocked in at 4 and did my LU, then Kim paged me to call her. She brought down a bag of white cheddar popcorn:) Took over for Shelby around 4:30 and was busy for an hour. Did the prelim duties, and the soda count, and remembered I still needed to do my AP4Me! Got two of them done before HC Britt sent me to break. Got the trash bags I needed 1st (lg 49"x49") and the medium ones (34"x39"??) and there were no small ones. Will have to get them tomorrow up at front. Returned and did the rest of my AP4Me, then swept the entire area, pulled trash, and was busy until close. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to sanitize and muck out the mats! Locked the doors after final customer left at 9, and waited until Loader A (who shaved his facial hair....I barely recognized him!...to bring in the concrete and take the hopper around before closing the large door. Returned items to Tools, Lights, and Seasonal, and clocked out at 9:30.

Picked up Elaine and went to Ash Kickin' Karaoke over in Bridgeport...had a great time, though my voice is still gone.

Outfit: Naughty List Again tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, snowman bells Left the hearing aids at home, ha ha!

Day 182: Rare Sat

Arrived and took over for Marilyn. Reg #1 was out of 1s, 5s, and 10s, so spent the majority of the shift on #2. At my 1st break, I brought back my book and coat; then at 6, Shelby sent me to lunch. Treated myself to McAllister's....brocolli cheese soup and ham and cheese, plus a Brookie. Didn't get my 2nd break. Swept the entire area; did my LU; sanitized the registers and counters. Locked the doors at 9, and returned items to Plumbing and Appliances. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Naughty, Nice, I Tried tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, Ljs, santa hats

Day 183: Rare Sun Christmas Eve (3-6:30)

Arrived with cookies for us AND the front end; took over for Austin. Wasn't too busy; did the prelim duties and swept. Dawson sent me to break at 4:30, and when I returned, began sweeping. Had a 'rush' at 5:30; Nate brought in the concrete, and shut the large door at 5:59. There was a customer who pulled in, but never got out of his car. Returned items to Hardware, Tools, and Pets. Clocked out at 6:15 and went to Sara's for Christmas with the grandkids.

Outfit: Red Santa shirt with flowey sleeves; black l/s tee, black jeggings, LJs, green jingle bells

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-43586152076186240482023-12-11T18:52:00.000-08:002024-01-25T19:09:04.698-08:00Life In Lumber: Y5, W42
Day 174:

Arrived with a disturbing intestinal issue; made it safely to bathroom. Clocked in and took over for Kem, who informed me she was irritated with Gabe; he was reading his book while she was taking care of customers. She left; G tells me he's taking a break; I handle customers. G returns; at 3:40, I had to return to the restroom. After I return, G goes again. At 4, I went back; false alarm. I return to Pro; G goes AGAIN! At this point, I was thinking, "Monkey see, monkey do?" Then at 4:47, G announced he was going to go ahead and leave. Really? 13 mins early? Fine. I did the prelim duties and at 5:10, Cindy sent me to lunch. Afterward, I rang up the rest of the customers, then began sweeping. At 7:30, pulled trash. 8, began mucking out the mats. HC A cleaned me out at 9; I locked the doors and took the trash to the hopper. Put up my vest and asked Val to return 2 tubes to Paint. Clocked out at 9:15.

Was PISSED when I found out we're not getting our quarterly bonus!!!

Outfit: Black/white stripe shirt, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, antique silver/pearls.

Day 175:

Arrived and took over for Gabe. Did the prelim duties and started the soda count. Kait sent me to break at 6:30 and when I returned, finished the soda count and began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30 and sanitized the registers and counters, and mucked out the mats. Final two customers left at 9; after HC Bre cleaned me out, Kait brought in the concrete. I'd already locked the side doors, so closed the large door and pushed the trash down to the hopper. Put up my vest and clocked out at 9:30.

Was told I need to talk to Holly about my sick days. Also found out we're getting 4 more self checkouts.

Outfit: Gray sweater, red NHRA polo, dark jeggings, Ljs, small diamond flowers

Day 176:

Arrived and was about to take over for Gabe when a customer asked me about his order. G didn't know anything about it, so I told G to wait while I went to see if it was staged anywhere. It wasn't, but when I returned, there was a customer in front of #1 and G standing around. I told my customer I'd find someone to pull his drywall, then told G to turn on my light. I rang up the customer; G left. I was a little ticked off; couldn't he have rung up the 2nd customer while I was helping #1? Or did he have a hot date and had to take off NOW?? Just don't get him..

The rest of the shift went smooth. Fronted the soda, did the prelim duties, swept the area. Olivia sent me to break at 7:30, and when I returned, pulled trash and discovered Loader A had brought my broom up so I could sweep the pile. Mucked the mats and rang up my final customers at 8:55. Locked the doors; Loader A brought in the concrete; HC Brit cleaned me out. Took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Aisle 50, Plumbing, Paint, and Batteries. Clocked out at 9:30 after taking a box of bags to Pro and filling #1 and 2 bags.

Outfit: Black/gray l/s tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, blue sapphire hoops

Day 177:

Arrived to discover Gabe had called in. Did the prelim duties and the soda count; by 6:30, I was sweeping. Rider sent me to break at 7, and when I returned, pulled trash, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers. Final customers were at 8:50; locked the doors until they pushed the cart up. Loader A took the trash to the hopper, then brought in the concrete. HC Britt cleaned me out. After I closed the big door, returned an item to Tools, then put up my vest. Since I'd gotten a credit app yesterday, I 'punched' the Christmas tree and won a screwdriver. Yay me.....clocked out at 9:45.

Outfit: Maroon plaid, black l/s tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 178: Rare Sat

Arrived and took over for Marilyn, who tells me the place just died. Hahaha....five minutes later, I have a rush. THEN the rain arrived....and the place died. Had a few customers, off and on, but time just dragged. Dawson sent me to lunch at 6:30 and when I returned, pulled trash and swept what I could in between the rain tracks. After Matt brought in the concrete at 9, I locked the doors, waited for my final customer to unload his 2 carts before bringing them in and locking the large door. HC Brit cleaned me out, then took gloves back to Tools and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:50.

Outfit: Blue Colts 18 jersey, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, LJs, small diamond flowers

Day 179: Rare Sun

Was a nice, low-key shift. Arrived and took over for Marilyn and began ringing up customers. Did the prelim duties, and refilled the bags. Around 6, a customer came in to get his large order both Jax and A were working on. Jax had left at 5, and A had gone to lunch. I called ASM Alex, who came down to see what else the customer needed. Turned out he was putting it on an LAR, so I took the info and began scanning his lumber on Pro J's register, leaving mine open for other customers. Dawson came down to send me to break as we were nearly finished. Got the customer rang up and on his way. After my break, I fronted the soda, pulled the trash, and had a surprise visit from Will. Locked the doors at 8, then had one final customer. HC Cam cleaned me out; I took the trash to the hopper. Loader A brought in the concrete; I returned items to Paint and Aisle 10. Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit: Mama Claus tee, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, LJs, green bells

Off the next 3 days!
Molly Danielshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01488325587798390008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8232925697620699106.post-49708968934119241612023-12-07T08:28:00.000-08:002023-12-31T20:20:23.823-08:00December Goals
Is it just me, or did November fly by? So I was (hoarsely) pushing the QR code at everyone. At the end of the day, 11 customers scanned it, but only 5 came back for their free drink. So will see what he says tomorrow.

Around 8:15, Jase came down to look for something, so I asked him to watch the register while I took a pit stop. My energy level tanked, so I only pulled trash and swept, plus did the soda count. Clocked out at 9:30. Did get my AP4Me and LU done tonight.

Outfit: Oatmeal sweatshirt, red NHRA polo, faded jeggings, LJs, small crystal drops

Day 171: $7138

Arrived and took over for Gabe; did the prelim duties and my LU; wasn't very busy, so went ahead and swept the area, and mucked the mats. Things picked up at 6 and was steady, then Jase sent me to lunch at 6:30. Returned and things had died down, so sanitized the registers, pulled trash, and shuffled the soda. After HC Kait cleaned me out, returned items to Tools, Electrical, Paint, Hardware, and Pets, then took the trash to Receiving's hopper, since Loader A took off with ours when I was just about to reach him. Picked up some trash bags for our area, then went up front. Clocked out at 9:40.

Still no voice, and energy level dropped around 8 again.

Outfit: Burgandy sweater, faded jeggings, LJs, silver diamond danglies

Day 172: They took away our 3.7 screen; I can no longer track my sales.

Called in Wed and Thurs, due to being exhausted and not feeling well at all. Went in today; voice is still croaky, but at least my energy's back! Went in 2 hours early, and Gabe took advantage of my being there by taking a pit stop 1st thing, then clocking out at 4:30. I was exactly slammed, per se, but was very steady. Thankfully, only one person needed an o/r and ASM Charlie was there. Begged for a pit stop around 7, and ASM Shan came down to cover me. Pulled ALL the trash at 7:30 and swept the floor. Final customer was at 8:45; at 9 I locked the doors and fronted the Pro soda coolers while ASM Shan cleaned me out. I walked her up front while HC Kait was bringing in concrete and 3 others were bringing in carts. Returned items to Hardware, Batteries, and Plumbing, then put up my vest. Loader Jax had taken my trash to the hopper.

Only had one customer ask if I was sure I wasn't spreading germs; nearly everyone else told me, "Oh, you've got it too?"

Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Red/black plaid, l/s black tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, small gold hoops

Off tomorrow to hopefully bake some cookies!

Day 173: Rare Sunday

Went in early with 18 choc chip and 18 oatmeal-raisin cookies, then bought GCs for family members, plus a puzzle. Still need to get lighters, batteries, and more lights for next year.

Clocked in and sent Marilyn on break, then was fairly steady. At 4, did the prelim duties, and began sweeping around 6. Bella sent me to break at 6:45, and when I returned, did my LU and pulled trash. Brought in carts from the sidewalk. Did the soda count, and nearly unloaded on Bella when she put some of the soda away, then told me she was leaving AFTER she saw me mopping up a mess! (Frappe bottle leaked). Locked the doors at 8, then finished putting away the soda. Put up my vest, then put away a leftover Coke and Gatorlyte (that I didn't even NEED!), and retrieved my prize (got a credit app) from the tree. No staff available to help anywhere, and I think everyone who could operate a forklift went to lunch at the SAME time! Just very frustrating. Did get my 15 min break AND my 30 min lunch, so that helped....then Kelly brought down a trash bag that turned out to be a sheet of plastic, so that amused me:) Had to hop to #2 when #1 tried to eat a check, then went haywire. One of my final customers bought me a candy bar to cheer me up. Returned items to Tools and Paint, then hung up my vest. Clocked out at 9:30.

Loader Dale NCNS again, so he's quit, which saddens me. We worked well together.

Thank god I'm off tomorrow for choir practice!

Outfit: Blue hooded Cabella's sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, small gold textured hoops.

Day 165: $11,770

Arrived and took over for Cindy; Kem had left at 2. Was slightly busy; the IT guy was replacing the internal components on #2, so when I had to ring up the BOGO tools, had to do it on 3. Did get the soda fronted and shuffled and the other prelim duties finished. Alice sent me to lunch at 5:30, and when I returned, things had slowed somewhat. Did my LU and pulled trash at 7:30, then swept the entire area and sanitized the registers. Returned items to Plumbing, Seasonal, and Hardware after HC Brea cleaned me out. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit: Red l/s tee, white plaid fleece vest, faded jeggings, LJs, small gold hoops

Off tomorrow for Thanksgiving!!

Day 166: Black Friday $10,131

Would have had maybe $500 more, but the tools didn't ring up correctly, and ASM G ended up taking them to SCO.

It's official; my new pain meds cause intestinal issues. Arrived and had to run to the restroom, then move the car (I'd parked in handicapped) and bring in my purse and water. I'd also brought in 3 doz choc chip cookies. Jeff even took 2:) The 1st two hours were enjoyable, then at 5, Amy came down and we swapped customers back and forth. I did my LU and my credit training, and brought in the carts from the sidewalk. At 6:30, we shuffled the soda and did the count. I took returned items to Plumbing, Aisle 10, Tools, and Seasonal, then took a pit stop and noted the times of our breaks. Turned out I was supposed to have gone to lunch at 5, and break at 7:30; Amy's was at 7. So returned and told her the plan; she'd get her break at 7, and when she returned, I'd take my 30. So that's what we did, and everything was fine. Returned and pulled trash; Amy swept and sanitized. Nanette and Al came and even went over to RK and brought Loader Aaron a bag of popcorn! Final 2 customers arrived; 1 was okay, but the other was a CFH.

-He had carpet, and I asked it if was all the same. "No" I found the item # and discovered the same one on the top one, so added 13 plus 11. Then discovered the 3rd one had the same item #. "I thought you said they were all different." "They are; one's 13', one's 11', and the other's 10'." I nearly strangled him.

-He had six DeWalt tools, so had to hop to #2 to ring them up. Finally got ahold of HC Brit, b'c they didn't ring up correctly. In the meantime, he goes off to get ratchet straps. I rang up the final customer, then saw ASM G take the tools up front. Guy says he was told to get a free drink; says he wants Gatorade, but got a Body Armour. *eye roll*

Also, earlier, needed an o/r on paint on Reg 1, discounted plywood on #2, and rang up a third customer on #3! Told HC Britt, "You didn't know I could work 3 registers at once, did you?" She laughed.

Also needed an o/r on discounted delivery; took two managers to get it figured out!

Wore my new antler headband, and one customer asked me if I was 'horny'.

Outfit: Red Santa shirt with bell sleeves, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, LJs, red/green danglies, antler headband

Day 167: Small Business Saturday $13,204

Arrived and took over for Marilyn. Was busy for an hour, then did the prelim duties. Was fairly steady the rest of the evening. D came in around 6, but the tools he wanted, Reg #2 refused to cooperate, so ended up sending him to SCO. Amy sent me to lunch at 6:45, and when I returned, pulled trash and swept. Final customer left at 8:50. Locked the doors at 9; Jax took my trash, and I'd already sent my returns with Katy. After HC A cleaned me out, put up my vest. Oh, and got a credit app, so 'punched' the 'Christmas tree' and won a hat. Oh boy....I know what my Secret Santa's getting, ha ha! ASM SC had brought some delicious bread, and I brought him 3 of yesterday's cookies. Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit: Mama Bear sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, green Santa hats, antler scrunchie

Day 168: Rare Sunday $12,917

Arrived and took over for Marilyn. Was busy for an hour, then did the prelim duties. LG Chris paid for a snack with $100; discovered I didn't have enough $$ in the drawer. ASM CH came down at 5 just after I brought in all the carts from the sidewalk, and let me make a pit stop. Called LG C and he came down just as a customer was paying cash. Gave him his $95 after the customer paid. Started sweeping at 6; Dawson sent me to break at 6:45. Took a dowl rod back, and handed Olivia a screw when I saw she was in the break room:) Returned and pulled trash. Locked the side doors at 7:50, and left the garage door down halfway, lifting it up for Barry, who was getting carts. Final customer was at 8:05. ASM SC cleaned me out; I put up my vest. Found the heater I want on Friday for $25. Clocked out at 8:40.

Outfit: Blue Manning Colts Jersey, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Week 40:

I only work Tuesday, since am off Mon, then off W-Th for the GSH Vendor Fair, and Fr-Sat for the Kris Kringle Market.

Day 169: $7848

MTD: 126,610

Was scheduled 4-close, but clocked in at 3:30. in order to do my AP4Me and LU, in case there wasn't time to do it. As it turned out, I had a LOT of downtime.

Arrived and met Gabe, who was there til 5, which turned out to be a good thing, since a customer had an insulation machine, but the hoses didn't fit. I turned off my light and went to ask ASM Charlie and Pro J about it. J told me there was a box of brand new hoses in the closet, but I discovered I needed help opening up the door. C cut his lunch short in order to help me, and together, we made the customer happy. I returned to my register. Gabe left at 5 and I was busy for maybe 45 mins. Bit the bullet and brought in a few carts from the sidewalk (it was COLD out there; 33 degrees!). Saw Bonus Child AW, who talked to me for about a half hour, and when I got busy at 7:15, he left. Called HC Bre, since I was supposed to have had my break at 6:45. She came down and sent me for a pit stop. Returned and started sweeping, then pulled trash. Final customer was 9, and locked the doors behind him. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; ASM Shan cleaned me out; I walked her up front and returned items to Seasonal, Tools, and Electrical. Took the trash down to the hopper, put up my vest, and took a glass tile back to Flooring. Clocked out at 9:30.

Off to the Vendor Fair tomorrow and Thurs, then the Kris Kringle Market Fri and Sat! Probably going to make cookies on Sunday. Was immediately busy, and when things slowed down at 4, waded through 17 emails; did my AP4Me, and started the prelim duties and soda count. Was slammed at 5, and it continued through 6:30. ASM SC was down there, so I asked him to call HC Bre and let her know I needed a pit stop. She arrived and sent me to my half hour break. When I returned, I finished the soda count, gathered the trash, and began sweeping. Brought in the carts from the porch, and checked out the final customers. After HC Bre cleaned me out, Reg #3 refused to open, so while Loader D brought in the concrete, I took the trash down and returned an item to aisle 50. Locked the doors, then returned items to Aisle 10, and headed to the break room. One of the other cashiers was heading up front, so I handed off the X-mas lights and put up my vest. Someone needed to stay with HC Bre, so I volunteered and got an extra hour of pay. Clocked out at 10:20.

Outfit: Blue crew Cabela's sweater, new dark jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 161: $10,817

Arrived at 2 and took over for Kem. After ASM M cleaned me out, I locked the doors and took the trash to the hopper, then returned items to Drywall, Plumbing, Hardware, and Pets. Put up my vest, then 'parked' two handicapped carts. I was slammed for a half an hour, then did the prelim duties. She never did get to it; they needed her up front. Rider sent me to my break at 5:15, and when I returned, began sweeping. Mucked out the mats, sanitized the registers and counters, wiped off the top of the ice machine, and re-hung a jacket and some Klein tools. Final customer was at 8; locked the doors while HC A cleaned me out, and closed the large door after ASM Charlie took the trash and brought in the concrete. Returned items to Plumbing and Tools, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 8:30.

Almost fell over in shock. One of my contrary contractors, Eric M, told me I was the best. ASM G was behind me, so I jokingly told him to speak a little louder so my boss would hear. He did, and ASM G AGREED!
