2) Stormed; didn't have a lot of customers. And only 2 after I returned from lunch at 9.

3) Ran short of receipt paper

BB 27: Week 3

HOH:  Lauren Wins!!!!!

Oh boo hoo Rachel....."I used to be so good at these comps....if I don't win, then who am I?"  Get over yourself....it's been HOW many years since you've played?  And had two kids?  *eye roll*

And Mickey's freaking out? Girl, calm yourself and wait until you actually have a conversation with her!

She nominates Keanu, Kelly, and Will.

POV:

LMAO.....I honestly thought Ash was going to be in the shower when they picked players!

Vince, Ashley, Lauren, Will, Keanu, and Kelley:)

Comp:  Timed one.  Ash made it through, but triggered the alarm a couple of times; Will is hopeless; Vince doesn't want to win, and dawdles several times, but will it be enough.

3rd Place:  Vince, 10:01

2nd Place: Lauren, 7:22

WINNER: Keany, 6:54  He takes himself off; Lauren puts up Adrian, since everyone tells her if she puts up Ash, more people will be upset.

Screening Bad Guys 2:  Rachel, Jimmy, and Ava.  Geez, Rachel....did you get a clue you were going to be invited, wearing your green evening gown???

BB Blockbuster:  Kelley:)

Eviction:

Adrian is evicted, 8-4

BB 27 Week 2

HOH Comp: Search through the sewers; In the dark comp!

Ava's afraid of the dark, so she sits down.  WTH???

HOH:  Jimmy

Power #1: Keanu Mystery Competitor power:) Tells Kelly

Power #2: Mickey HOH Dethrone power; tells Morgan

Power #3: Kelley Mystery Veto Power; tells Jimmy

Noms:

Kelly, Adrian, and Keanu

POV:  Dressed up as potted plants:)

Keanu invokes his power, and Jimmy pulls AVA's name out of the box.

Mystery competitor:  Comp Beast Kaycee!

Kelly out 1st, followed by Ava.  Jimmy and Keanu false-started.

Kaycee vs Adrian: Kaycee wins!  Keanu is safe!

OMG.....Keanu tells Rachel he watched her highlight reel, and the fact two houseguests yelled at her.  Rachel leaves in a huff, and tells K 'fine, go to war with me' when he tries to explain.  K, either you're really dumb and didn't realize what you were saying, or Rachel, you're too sensitive.  I'm not sure what's the case here.

Veto Meeting:  Keanu takes himself off; Jimmy puts up Amy.  Kelly activates her power and WINS!  Takes herself off the block; Jimmy puts up Will.

OMG Ava...why are you still wearing that stupid flower pot outfit?

BB Blockbuster:  Will, Amy, Adrian

Gag....Taylor's back for an announcement?  Gag.....

OMG Rachel.....that sheer outfit, your 'funeral' outfit....I can't even.....and then to threaten Zach and Morgan???  Yes, I like Amy, but by all means, piss Rachel off and send Amy home!

Adrian wins!!!!!  Will vs Amy:

Eviction:

Amy is evicted, 13-0  She did NOT reveal her accomplice status, so maybe at some point she gets to return????

BB Unlocked:  Not being a fan of Taylor, I seriously doubt I'll watch.

Yeah, I'm bored.  Bleh. But apparently it's connected to BB, so I can skim through it.

BB27.....O. M.G.....

I honestly wasn't going to blog about this season's BB, but holy hell, Rachel's back.

First, a brief recap of Ep 1.

16 enter; 8 compete to find Julie, and Zach does it, winning $10K.

Next, the others compete to find the HOH relic, and Jimmy wins it, earning the right to pick four contestants to play in the HOH contest. He decides to play and after interviewing everyone, picks Ashley (the only female who said she'd do it), Vince (who still lives with Mommy and has no job), and Adrian.

Vince wins, not surprisingly, since he juggles.

Then they revealed another houseguest was returning.  I was hoping it WOULD NOT BE Rachel or Jesse, the two most annoying houseguests in history (I forgot about Taylor, but here's hoping we never see her again either!).

Back to the show.

After Rachel arrives, the Mastermind announces he has an accomplice in the house, and it's NOT Rachel. If the others can guess who helped him cut the lights and stole the HOH relic, that person will be immediately ejected from the game.

Come on, PLEASE let it be Rachel!!!!!  I can't stand her!!!!

Watch it be Vince.....

Now everyone thinks its either Rylie (cowboy hat) or Zae (sun-kissed California guy).

Verdict:  Not!

Holy Sh*t....it's AMY, whom I suspected after Rylie was revealed not to be it.

What tipped me off?  I remembered SHE LOOKED BACK at the portrait, which was the secret door.

Have-Nots:  Rachel, Will, Zach, and Ava

Nominations:

Before the nom ceremony, Ashley did something incredibly selfish, taking a 90 min shower in the HOH room, mildly pissing Vince off.  It even pissed the others off

As people were discussing with Vince whom to put up, Amy for whatever reason, broke out in TEARS at the thought of Ash going up.  WTH???

So what does Vince do?  Puts up Ash, Amy, and Zae, since he wasn't proven to be the accomplice.

Amy better win the battle back and take herself off the block.

POV:

Vince, Amy, Ash, Rachel, Zae, and Zach

(after Ash takes another shower!)

Camp side Caper:  Ashley wins! Takes herself off. Vince puts up Kelley.

Jimmy blows up at Keanu?  WTH????

Kelley, your mouth is about to get you in trouble...

Zae, really?  Actively going after Rachel?  Admirable, but waaaaay too early!

Blockbuster:  Kelley wins!!!

Eviction:  Zae, 9-5!!!

Imaginarium Wrap Up

I love the annual Imaginarium Conference for a variety of reasons.  This was year 12 (9th for me!), and it felt......off.

1) Friday.  I arrived late, due to my own stupid decision to pack last minute.  That's fine; I beat the rush earlier in the day.  But, there was a snafu.

-My packet was not in the VENDOR packet, even though I had paid the early bird fee for a table back in September (I checked!), so getting my table was delayed, since the check-in person didn't have the password to the computer, and they had to locate Cassandra and Holly to clear it up.  Fortunately, no one had claimed my 'preferred spot', so they quickly swapped out the tables, since the vendor assigned hadn't checked in yet.  Fine and dandy; I set up maybe 30-45 mins after I'd arrived.

-It was close enough to check-in time, so I decided to go ahead and get my room.  Yay, I'm back on the 3rd floor, though not handicapped accessible as I thought. No problem; I got my key and I can grab onto the sink to raise/lower myself to the toilet.  Problem solved; I moved my luggage in, redid my hair, and went back down. Checked my emails; I have one from Cap 1 saying I was over my limit, but they approved my $511 charge for the room!  WTH...I made SURE there was $460 in there, to cover it!  Oh well, maybe there's an extra fee....it's okay, I can still pay this off in time for Sept....I hope!

-I only sold one book, but again, I was only at my table for maybe 2 hours.  The minute I arrived, I was grabbed by nearly all my friends for hugs, and I did go into the vendor hall to see Carol Preflatish, Brian, Cookie, Tommy Smith, and the Hydra table.

-Brian, TL Shively, Matt Shorr, and I decided to go to dinner at The Melting Pot.  Now granted, it's been 20+ years since I'd been there, and since I wasn't the paying customer at the time, I don't remember the prices.  But sticker shock hit my eyes.  I thought maybe we would just forgo the cheese and chocolate courses and pay $35 for the entree.  But no, we'll split the $116 payment between two people each, making it *only* $56 per person.  Fine; I can adjust my food budget, and maybe sales will be good, and I won't be in the hole.  But again, things had changed.  I remember unlimited veggies; nope, we only got three plates per table, so once the cheese and entree courses were over, I was still hungry. Chocolate course, Matt and I discovered he didn't care for the pound cake, while I didn't care for the marshmallows or the bananas, so he ate most of what I didn't like, and I ate what he didn't want.  Then, since there was some of the others' items left, I volunteered to eat what was left, and it solved my hunger issue.  Then, surprise, surprise....when we got our bills, it's standard operating procedure for all parties over 6 to be billed a 20% gratuity, which split between the 6 of us, was an additional $12.  I ended up paying nearly $80.  Food budget is officially blown.  But maybe sales will make it up....I'll skip breakfast and only eat my planned Subway sandwich.

-I went down for the entertainment, after fixing myself a cocktail in the room (vodka and kool aid), which last year's dancing I really hadn't cared for, so waited until 9:30. Fortunately, there was no Burlesque this year, and I joined my friend Mysti Parker for an enjoyable final dance, which was pirate-themed:)  Then Jayson William Allen took the stage with his guitar player and drummer, and we had a GREAT time!  3 times, his g/f Stephanie joined him to harmonize, and at one point, Jayson leapt onto the chairs in front of us.  I whispered to Mysti, "Should we act like hysterical fans and pretend to rip off his pants?"  LMAO!

2) Saturday. My panel was at 9am on Plot Holes, so after grabbing my PWT flyer, a copy of HLC, and my cards, I joined Marilyn Barr and several others for a lively discussion on how they happen, how to resolve them, or are they simply mistakes?  Afterward, NO ONE came up to talk to us or grab cards.

-Attendance seemed to be down, and I only saw maybe less than 10 cosplayers. During the times of no traffic, I went to the vendor hall and took pictures and found a few books I'm interested in buying....but first, I need sales to recoup my loss from Friday night's meal.

-I WAS given two free books; I went to get a picture of Jayson at his table and he told me to take anything I wanted.  So I got Steph's book, and she was thrilled when I asked her later to sign it! Likewise, Troy Maynard, the Viking Hugger, handed me HIS hook, and signed it later.

-I wanted Jen Selinsky's Genesis book, but with only $10 in sales, I couldn't justify it. Fortunately later, I sold a copy of Catered Romance to a gentleman for his wife, so I was able to buy it.

-Brian, TL, and I were meeting Brian and Robyn Rodman at Momma Bear's BBQ, and leaving at 6, so I packed up early to go refresh myself before dinner. Once there, we had a 30 min wait (no problem....the Rodmans had an errand first). But said errand took longer than expected, so after waiting nearly an hour, we got the go-ahead to order. Had a wonderful meal (chicken caesar salad, as per my food budget), and managed to buy a copy of Brian's Memoir of an Angel and Nebulizer 2, of which I used the $40 cash earmarked for my son, whenever he gets off his butt and takes care of a friend's yard!  I get paid Friday; I can replace the $25.

-I again fixed myself a cocktail (vodka and koolaid) and went downstairs for the karaoke party. Saw the end of the cosplay contest and the winners, then turned in my list for karaoke.  Ended up starting things off, but this time people cheered!  An hour later, Holly had arrived, and the DJ put me in for Simply The Best, which I dedicated to Holly and Stephen, and again people cheered me on:)  Unfortunately, didn't get to do Independance Day or Univited, but that's okay.  On the way back to my room, I ran into Aubrey, Anton, and Baryn, who were headed up to a party in Morgan and Sako's room.  I said I was tired and would see them tomorrow.

-Changed into my PJs, then realized I'd left my water at my table, so went down to get it. After returning to my room, I decided to go to the party for a bit, and enjoyed myself. Had a Fairy Shot (hollowed out strawberry, amorretto, and Reddi-Whip), and a few meatballs. Then, Anton decided to make a comment at Dwan which I didn't care for, so I excused myself and went back to the room.

3) Sunday, my panel wasn't until 3:15, and I had signed up for Tea Dueling at 2. I made it downstairs at 9:45 and noticed traffic was REALLY down. Some vendors left as early as 1. The Tea Dueling was AMAZING!  You face off in rounds, and choose your tea (Spicy, Chamomile, or Dr, Who), then your cookie.  You hold the cookie half an inch from the bottom, then dunk it into your tea for 5 seconds, then HOLD it up.  The person who gets their cookie into their mouths LAST wins.  I faced off with Aubrey, and was so focused on making her laugh, I forgot to watch my cookie.  It splatted into my tea, and she won the round.  Oops!  But she was taken out by Wayne (at my table!) in the next round!  Wayne ended up winning the thing, so yay us!

-I went to my panel at 3:15 and had another wonderful discussion about writing historical fiction, with 4 people in attendance.  Again, NO ONE came up to get cards.

-I did pop into Carma's panel, just to say hi, and got a bracelet:)

-When I came back around 4:15, nearly everyone had already packed up and left, including TL, Matt, and Cookie.  Lynn left me a note; Brian PM'd me.  Aubrey asked me if I was going to the Troll Bridge, and since I was, asked if I could carpool with her. We made plans to meet around 6. I packed up at 5:30 and moved my van closer to the door, saying goodbye to friends.  Went up to the room to refresh myself, then went back downstairs to wait for Aubrey.

-We arrived at the Troll Bridge in one piece, thanks to Baryn and I directing. Walked two blocks and only had to pay $7 parking:)  Aubrey nearly had a Marilyn Monroe issue with her skirt, ha ha!  Arrived to discover Holly had WAAAAAY underestimated the amount of people attending, but there was a four-top about to leave, so we waited, instead of commandeering the table outside the main room, where everyone else was.  Ro, a musician I met a few years ago, arrived, and she sat with us.  We dubbed ourselves the Corner Crew, and had a great time!  I ordered a Shroomburger (delicious!), but had issues with the server remembering to get my iced tea!  After the 3rd reminder, Aubrey went to bar to get it (hence his $2 tip). I transfered another $20 out of my savings, for just in case, since I had a $25 check still out, and only $47 in my account at that time. (it still hasn't hit, so whew!)

-Took Baryn to his apartment so he could get his swim trunks, then made it back to the hotel safely.  Parted ways, and I went upstairs, took a shower, played Solitaire, and went to bed.  I'd forgotten how to turn on the shower, and the phone in my room didn't work, so had to go back downstairs and ask.  As I was drying off, I noticed the instructions BESIDE THE SHOWER!  If I'd looked UP, I would have seen it.  But again, it was 10pm, and I was TIRED!

4) Checked out of the hotel around 10, and ran into Carma again. Had a good chat while she was checking out, and had another nice chat with someone I'd only seen briefly. Found out about the $20 daily charge, which does get refunded, and my final charge was only $460.  Whew!  Cap 1 will be happy:)   Took myself to Chipotle for lunch, and the nice kid working the cash register didn't charge me for the extra chicken, since I only get rice, cheese, and sour cream.  Thank you!  See you again next year:)

-Drove home and only encountered a slight slow down at Tell City, as we all merged into one lane for about a mile.

-Arrived home in time for my writer's group, so went there 1st, then dealt with the grumpy spousal unit.  Thank god I didn't have to work yesterday!  Wanted to go to Food Truck night, but it was hot; I was out of $$; he was griping about having to replace the starter in the truck.  Okay, we'll stay in.

Sigh.....maybe another Monday night Food Truck night will arrive where I'm off work???

1) Found out I'm up to 7 absences, and I get 2 more.  I need to find out where my others went; I thought I was at 4 or 5!

2) Matt asked us to fill out a survey:
-What are my career goals?
-What do I expect from them?
-What can they do to improve?
     a) I expect to retire in 15 years
     b) I expect to be given the time off I need to promote my work and to take care of my mom.  I do NOT call out frivolously; I only do it in a dire emergency.
     c)  I would like to train the closers in Lumber; I would like 2 lumber associates scheduled; I would like 25-30 hours per week; I would like 2 head cashiers per shift; I would like faster response times to Code 99s.

3) Was 90 mins late to work, due to not leaving Lafayette until 12:30, and had to run by home, since I didn't want my laptop overheating, or my deodorant to melt.

Outfit:  Gold tee, faded capris (unrolled),  Forgot earrings.....

Day 75:  Sunny, storms, low 90s; 72 t/a
ASM:  Daniel
HC:  Austin
Loader:  Joey

1) Matt was thrilled with my typewritten survey (see above), and told me that yes, there will be 2 lumber associates in the evening.  Also, the store was supposed to get remodeled last year, but was pushed back.  It's coming....

2) Customer had 5 full carts, which took me half an hour to ring up.  Loader Joe hopped on #2 in order to bust the line!

3) Customer wanted to save $$, so I signed him up for a CC. But the verification went to his email, which he doesn't have on his phone, so called his wife. When he finally got a hold of her, I sent two more codes, and we got him approved.  THEN, in order to use the shopping pass, it went to his email (head desk), so I had him text the info. His phone refused to cooperate, so after the 3rd attempt, I called ASM Dan. We ended up just doing the 20% and scanning the o/r.  Customer went on his way.

4) Joe and a customer pushed in a heavy cart of lumber for return as I was going to lunch. I looked at him and asked if he was okay, which he replied he didn't know. I told him to sit down for a few.  When I returned an hour later, he had gone to lunch.....but by 9pm hadn't returned.  Praying he's okay!

5) Kaitlyn Stevenson agreed to take my Friday shift!  Holly still hadn't fixed it, and I didn't want to burn a point.

Outfit:  Black Alaskan Hway tee, long capris, tiny silver hoops

Day 76: Rain, mid-80s; 76 t/a
ASM: Daniel
HC: Austin
Loaders: Kaleb, Jax

1) Heavy rain around 4; lasted until after 5. We offered our umbrella to anyone needing to go to their car!

2) Kaleb was drenched after being caught in the 1st wave.

3) Kaleb went home at 8:30, due to being drenched AGAIN while helping a customer load his order!

4) Customer made 5 trips in to fix his leaky water pipes.  Hope the last trip did the trick!

Outfit:  Dark gray IN tee, long capris, thin gold hoops.

 Day 73: Sunny, high 80s; 100 t/a

ASM:  Alex

HC:  Austin

Loader: Jax

1) Elderly man who only wears overalls with no underwear and no shirt was in. Fortunately, he smelled better this time!

2) Loader Fred complained about Jax not bringing in carts.  I pissed off Jax by calling him up, then sending him out. Later, he retaliated by shoving a cart at me, which nearly hit me. I stopped it with my foot and nearly fell over.

Outfit:  White Valspar tee, faded capris, blue sapphire hoops

Ended up calling in, due to my mom being sent to the hospital with sepsis and possible stroke. Will update soon.

Ended up spending the rest of the week with her.

 Day 68: Cloudy, humid, 90s; 101???

ASM:  Maria

HC:  Austin

Loader: Joey

1) Was very busy until 6, then was able to do LU and AP4Me

2) DS Ian had ice pops in the ice bin, so ate a red one. 30 minutes later, I slurred, "That'll be $324.06.." then enunciated it, and asked what was in that Italian ice? The customer, Joey, and I had a good laugh over it.

3) Had a customer wanting a fan, but we didn't have any in box. Offered to check them out, but they went on their merry way. A little while later, they returned; I rang up the fan 'needs loaded', as well as their other purchases, then hilighted their fan on the receipt so CS/ASCO would know it was already paid for, and sent them back to aisle 25.

4) Apparently, Gracie, our new trainee, had a rough day. With only one day of shadowing (that I know of!), they put her in LG, then ASCO, with NO training, and she didn't know what to do.  ASM Maria apologized to her. I showed her how I close down lumber, and she took some returns back for me.

Outfit:  Blue LU tee, dark capris, small gold hoops

Day 69: Sunny, less humid, upper 80s; 93 t/a

Ended up calling in on Tues, due to intestinal issues which hit at 2pm and didn't let up until 5:30.

ASM:  Daniel

HC: Kaitlyn

Loader:  No-show Joe

1) It was apparently 'Call-In Day', which I didn't get the memo and called in a day early, lmao! Kim, who worked my shift yesterday; Adrianne; and Joe.  Izzy covered the CS desk; Yancy came in and covered ASCO; Robin and I did our thing. Fortunately, NO ONE needed wood cut, or massive amounts of wood or drywall requiring a forklift! I had one customer with a pallet of cedar pickets, but those are in LG.

2) Pro customer had me get in Pro K's files to ring him up.  Only took me 2 tries to punch in the CC number.

3) Had to call Libby at 7:40 for a quick pit stop; as I was returning, I saw Raven coming to send me to lunch an hour earlier than the flow chart said!

Outfit:  Sage green 'flower' tee, dark capris, small textured hoops

Day 70:  4th of July; hot. muggy, 90s; 73 t/a

ASM: Alex

HC: Austin

Loaders:  Joey, Charlie, Kaleb

1) Discovered my intestinal issues are most likely caused by my meds being taken on an empty stomach! I'm suspecting the vitamin or Mucinex....

2) Had a contest to see which dept could sell the most fly swatters, bug bracelets, or American Flags. Front end is in 2nd place!

3) Other than being extremely hot (drank 2 bottles of water in 2 hours), shift was fairly good.

Outfit:  Blue 4th of July tee, dark capris, 4th of July earrings and scrunchie

Day 71:  Rare Sat; sunny, hot, mid-90s; 151 t/a

ASM:  Shannon

HC:  Isaac

Loader:  Kaleb

1) Was asked to come in due to Yancy calling in. Our plans had changed (was supposed to go to E'ville to take the daughter to dinner, but her back's out.  Doing it next Sat instead.), so agreed. Went in at 2, and barely even had time to grab a drink of water! Solid until nearly 6!

2) Was able to 'boss' Alex....I needed a forklift, but Charlie had left and Kaleb wasn't in yet. He told me to page....I asked if he would do it; I had a line clear back to aisle 19. I went back to ringing up; he made the page!

3) Traffic slowed down around 6, and was able to start the closing duties.

4) Kait swapped shifts with me; I'll take her Sunday (13th) and she'll take my Friday (11th). She's trying to arrange a way to take my Wed, so I can do the IG interview.

5) Passed out free ice cream and freezer pops:)

6) Had a Haitian man come up with road marker flags and an American Flag, and asked if that was okay to put in the back of his truck, so he was street legal!  Showed him where the FREE red flags are!

Outfit:  Spare parts tee, long capris (unrolled), small gold hoops

Day 72:  Rare Sun; cloudy; low 90s; 71 t/a

ASM: Shannon

HC:  Isaac

Loader: Jax

1) Clocked in early; thought my shift was 3-8; turned out to be 3;30-8!

2) Once Yancy left at 5, I was slammed for an hour!

3) Customer Marco thought I said $29 when it was $39!

4) Jax ignored my pages for customer assistance.

5) CFH was not understanding how much $$ was in her account.  Had to hop over to #2 while she 1st retrieved her wallet....then her phone to call her daughter....and FINALLY be rung up!

6) CFH #2 walked in at 7:58, then couldn't find what he was looking for in tools, then bi***ed about the fact Bill had left at 7:55!  He finally settled for two items after griping he'd driven an hour to get there, and checked out at 8:15.

Outfit: Blue flowered tee, dark capris (unrolled); thin gold hoops

From The Stupid Files: Y7, W 18

Day 64: Hot, mid 90s; 86 t/a

ASM:  Shannon

HC: Austin

Loader:  Jax (recovering from surgery, so not allowed to lift)

1) B**chy lady thought flooring was 56 cents per box; it's actually $56 a box. Said forget it; she only brought $100 with her. Rang up the rest, then told her she was sitting on $27, and did she want at least one box?  No....then griped when I totaled her and "the price went up"...informed her it was due to sales tax. She calmed down and handed me the $$.  *eye roll*

2) Customer came at close and questioned why it asked for his phone # after paying with a merch card?

"B/c it acts like cash, and if you return it, then it helps to add your phone# in case you lose your receipt." Again, *eye roll*

3) Had to call for an approval code right before I went to lunch for a $1600 LCA account.

Outfit: Dark blue LU tee, long capris, large zirconians

Off tomorrow, to take Mom to the dentist:)

Day 65: Hot, 90s

ASM:  Daniel

HC: Austin

Loaders: Kaleb, Joey

1) Had trainee Gracie for 1st 30 mins, but was so busy, didn't get a chance to talk to her!

2) Returned SOS item, but it had me print a label.....turns out we don't need it!

3) Seti called; I couldn't answer the phone, then he called me on the Zebra.  I could hear him, but apparently he couldn't hear ME!  Paged him when things finally slowed, but he didn't call.

4) At 6:30, Seti came down and sent me to ASCO; I turned on #6's light and rang up customers there, in addition to helping anyone at the SCO. HC Austin came down and told me I was supposed to be on ASCO; told him I didn't care.

5) After lunch, returned to Lumber and discovered either Seti or HC Austin had 'broken' the receipt machine. Izzy fixed it.

Outfit:  Black Mom tee, long capris, silver, blue, and pink hoops

As of now, off tomorrow:)

Day 66: Hot, 98; 77 t.a

ASM:  Alex

HC: Isaac

Loader:  DS Charlie

1) Learned some ageism is ocurring; Nancy told me she, Diana, and Don are being 'phased out'....switched shifts, departments, whatever.....in order they quit, be fired 'for not being able to do their job', or forced to retire.  Nancy was told BY SM MATT that she's not to work in plants, but to learn to work the ballymore, in order to downstock in Seasonal.  N is 69, and has worked OSLG for 9 years. D just celebrated her 26th anniversary with the company, and was told last month to work the occasional evening shift. She's a caregiver to her aging parents, and cooks them dinner every night. So far, she's adjusting, but N told me D plans to retire soon.  I don't know Don that well, but Brent quit due to them not scheduling him the hours he wants, and I fear Bob may be soon behind.

2) Had a male customer push a cart with a cabinet up, then complained it was the wrong price. I first asked if he could go take a picture, and he told me he had 5 busted vertebrae in his back, and was NOT about to walk all the way back there. I tried calling OSLG....then ISLG....then HW....and was about to call CS when he told me to forget it; he'd go to Harbor Freight and get it for $150 with less hassle.  Fine and dandy.

3) Had a family want 23/32 plywood, only they had 19/32. DS Charlie had just left for lunch; Bayden was out getting carts. Finally B showed up, as the hubby dropped an F bomb.  I walked away, and eventually they decided on the right plywood.

Outfit:  Blue Dept of Having A Good Time tee, long capris, tiny sapphire hoops

Off tomorrow for Olivia's 3rd birthday party!

Day 67:  Rare Sun; sunny, 89; 93 t/a

ASM: Shannon

HC: Austin

Loader: Jax

Fairly decent shift; the only thing that went wrong was I was asked to restock soda and chips, and didn't get anything swept except the mats at #2 and #3, and nothing was sanitized.  Jax didn't even tick me off, even though I had to call him to the front twice.

Outfit:  Blue/white striped tee, long capris, sapphire hoops

From the Stupid Files: Y7, W17

Day 60: Rain, low 80s; 72 t/a
ASM:  Shannon
HC:  Isaac
Loaders:  Kaleb, Joey

1) Had ZERO coverage!  Just Izzy and Sage at the back, and Kaleb and Joe in the front, with Isaac and Emma.

2) Joe and Kaleb were trying to down stock/stock while also answering Code 50s and cover Tools!

3) Kaleb ended up covering my lunch, but then ASM Shan asked Sage to take over.

4) Had Haitians who could hardly speak English.

5) A Customer who'd left two plumbing items at the desk, came back and REBOUGHT them.  I refunded them.

6) I'm fairly certain Pro Kath pissed off Neil G, because he wanted to buy a clearance item, then return later with his truck to pick it up!  She refused; he did return again and got two more clearance items.

Outfit:  Gray Plank LU tee, faded capris. Forgot my earrings.

Day 61: Hunid, mid 80s; rain showers; 52 t/a
ASM:  Shannon
HC:  Sonia

1) Was in Garden from 3-8.
2) Sonia sent me to break at 5:30 and when I returned, realized I had to go #2, but held it, thinking I'd be sent to lunch at 7.  She sent me at 8, and it was nearly too late.  I keep a spare change of undies in my locker for a reason....
3) It rained WHILE I was in the breakroom.
4) After lunch, was on ASCO, and realized my QR code was faded. My sign in didn't work either, so Theresa loaned me hers.
5) HC Sonia was rude to a customer and ASM Shan found out.
6) HC Sonia treated me as if I knew how to close Garden AND ASCO, but I did NOT! Things have changed in 6 years!

Outfit:  Blue USA tee, faded capris, small gold hoops

Day 62: Rain, humid, 80s; 80 t/a
ASM:  Alex
HC:  Sonia
Loader:  Kaleb (Joe call in)

1) Rain hit around 3:30; bles carts all around the parking lot.
2) Had a large order ($2400)  before lunch. First was going to do next day delivery, but it was giving me fits, so set it up as a Pick Up Later. While I was doing this, HC Sonia arrived to give me my break, but instead of hopping on a register, she stood there until ASM Alex asked her to hop on. *eye roll*
3) When I returned from lunch, the ^^^ customer was picking up their own order; a friend had offered their trailer.
4) Had 2 large orders ($1900) at close.
5) My dustmop was MIA.  Will ask Marilyn on Sunday if she knows what happened to it.

Outfit:  Las Vegas Indian Motorcycle tee, faded capris, thin gold hoops
Off the next three days!  Taking Mom to an appt tomorrow, then Summer On Main and Pride Fest.

Day 63:  Rare Sun Hot, Humid, 98; 76 t/a
ASM:  Alex
HC: Isaac
Loaders:  Kaleb, Jax

1) Had an entitled customer who came in, gave me his list, and asked that K and J get his lumber and bind it. Problem was, K and J had been told by Charlie to bring down a pallet of concrete, and were in the process of doing so.  K said the concrete wouldn't take long, and would get to it next.  This AFTER the woman pointedly told BOTH of us, "We drove an hour to get here."  Okay, go shop. Well, they returned 30 mins later to discover the boys were JUST NOW getting to it.  Upset, the woman asked to speak to Alex, so I called him to come down. She complained, "I'm a nurse and if a patient needs me while I'm stocking supplies, I can't just tell them to wait..." Apples and oranges, lady. But whatever....they got the order together and were happy after that.  I later asked K if Alex said anything, or just chalked it up to entitlement.  He told me the latter.

2) Had two customers at close, both getting screws from Hardware.  I rang up one and was waiting for him when a lady pushed HER cart in front.  Had to cancel the 1st and ring her up, then wait on her spouse to show up, which he did at the same time as the 1st customer!

3) Isaac didn't clean me out until nearly 8:45. Got a full 6 hours in:)

Outfit:  Black lace tee, faded capris, large zirconians

Day 54:  Warm, 80s; 104 t/a

ASM:  Shannon

HC:  Kayla

Loader:  Peyton

1) We were BUSY!  Also discovered Diana, our new Pro CSA, is my former customer, D Hercules:)

2) Needed Code 50, but P was busy loading a pallet of concrete. No one else showed up (Brent, where are you?????); finally a customer did it!

3) Needed an o/r; hopped to #1 (out of $1s, but could do CCs) until DS Keri arrived; she helped bust the line.

4) Was being lazy with the MLR status, until a customer whose ph # revealed the OLD ML, asked me about her points. I 'fessed up at that point, explained the difference, then sent the link to her phone.  She was appreciative, but also pissed....apparently NO ONE ELSE had ever explained it!

Outfit: Black dog tee, dark capris, gold squares

Off tomorrow to take Mom to an appt!

Day 55: Sunny, hot, low 80s; 103 t/a

ASM:  Alex

HC:  Austin

Loaders:  Joe, Jax

1) Ran out of $1s on #1

2) Was told to refund the insulation machine deposit, even though they'd had it since the 8th.

3) Conrad was fired due to family emergency; he'd not told them???

4) LOUD customer recognized me as 'the romance author', and as he left, told me he loved me....*eye roll*

5) Customer used LAME jokes on me at 9:30.....geez.

6) Little girl pretended some drywall cardboard strip was a snake; I played along and she was entertained:)

Outfit:  Gray America tee, dark capris, white danglies

Day 56: Sunny, low 80s; 95 t/a

HC:  Alex

HC:  Austin

Loader:  Jax

1) Had to call for Jax 4 times in 90 mins to help with loading or plywood, or to the saw!

2) Customer wanted trex delivered.

-They had called earlier and was told if their order was over $2K, delivery fee was only $29.  Oops, that's just for PRO customers; they have no such account. Delivery is $79. That's fine....

-Card declined, then the register 'lost' the order. Had to re-input it again.  Card declined a 2nd time; woman simply wrote a check, all the while muttering about changing banks.

3) HC A pulled #2 and found an EMPTY CHECK made out to LU. Time was 7:42; I was on break. HC A knew who it belonged to.

4) Shift began with ASM Shannon telling everyone to check their schedules. At first, I thought they'd scheduled me for this weekend, but then realized it was for NEXT weekend, which I cannot do. Sent her an email, and volunteered to work this weekend. ASM Alex said I could work Fri and Sun; he had Sat covered.

Day 57:  Rain, low 80s; humid; 83 t/a

ASM:  Alex

HC:  Austin

Loaders:  Jax, Joey

1) It was a fairly decent shift for being Friday the 13th!

2) Rained; Lumber was humid!  HC A said he liked my fan!

3) Forgot to mention earlier, a woman saw our Ice item # note and thought it was ICE! "Yes, we have ICE on speed-dial...."

4) I get to be on CS desk tomorrow!  Told them I'd be happy to handle the returns, if someone else answered the phone.  Alex said he'd rotate me and Kate if we got too stressed!

Outfit:  New blue floral tee, dark capris, pearl necklace and danglies

Day 58:  Rare Sat, Flag Day, humid, low 80s; 99 t/a

ASM:  Alex

HC:  Austin

Loaders:  Jax, Bayden

1) As I was clocking in, a woman asked me to call for help in Flooring.

2) When I arrived at the CS desk, was told to go to Lumber and give Emma her break.

3)  SM Matt hijacked me and told me to take over for Seti..."MST should NOT be on a register!" Finished his t/a, logged him out, logged in, rang up 1 customer, and logged off.

4) Arrived at lumber and took over for Emma, then a woman showed up. Finished Cust #1, then asked the woman if she needed help. Turned out she wanted to order a drop ceiling, but we didn't have anyone in Pro (Tate was scheduled, but he'd quit). I looked it up, but it looked complicated. Called ASM Maria, but no answer. Called SM Matt and explained the issue; he sent Maria to help.

5) Turned out SM Matt had Matty T and Emma clean the pro area thoroughly...."anything you think doesn't belong, toss it".

6) Did a PU later order, but when they came in an hour later, they changed their minds about the boards, and couldn't refund it. Tried everything I could think of, then called Emma. Turned out she had to 'Pick' the order before a refund could be given!

7) Things didn't slow down until 6:30.

8) From 5-6:30, was calling Jax every 15 mins or so. He copped an attitude on the last one, when I needed a forklift driver..."I need people!" and went back to doing what he was doing. I called for a forklift driver; Steve Y came down, looking puzzled...."Alex said Jax is here...."

"Yeah, I basically got an FU' from him."

Steve called Alex, who came down and ran the forklift.

Outfit: Gray flower 'flag' tee, dark capris, gold teardrop danglies

Day 59: Rare Sun Hot, humid, mid 80s; 69 t/a

ASM: Alex

HC: Sonia

Loader: Jax

1) It was 'call-in day'....I walked in, expecting to have a nice afternoon, trading customers with Robin, and Sonia said, "Thank God you're here!" HC Kay had called in; Robin had called in.

2) Marilyn and I had been tripping over each other from 3-4:30; Sonia had told me there was no one to cover my break, so I decided to get a pit stop in before she left at 5. I left her alone for 10 mins and returned to find Mari with a large order and getting an o/r; Kaleb on #2 with a large order, and a 3rd customer behind him!

3) Had 3 people walk up just as we were closing. Sonia was copping an attitude about it.

4) After we closed, I saw a woman pull in and try to go to the front door.

5) Sonia was VERY grumpy as we clocked out!

Inked-Rachel Rener Loved the humor! Interesting story:)
The Love Scribe-Amy Meyerson Good story!  Ending surprised me:)

From The Stupid Files: Y7, W15

Day 50: Low 80s; sunny; 95 t/a

ASM:  Maria

HC: Austin

Loader:  Chris (borrowed from LG)

1) Was with new trainee Diana for 2 hours, and when things were slow, she slightly irritated me by flipping cash box and the magnet. Joe arrived, obviously NOT feeling well; I told him to go home.

2) After D left at 5, I was slammed, plus needed 2 Code 50s, 2 forklift drivers, and one guy wanted 2 pallets of concrete!

3) Kylee sent me to lunch at 8, and I forgot to take the coffee pot with me.

4) Somehow, I managed to charge a woman's family for 91 bags of concrete. After an hour, I did finally figure out how to return it w/o her being there, and thankfully the phone had a call log, so I could call her back and tell her!

Outfit:  Red LU tee, long capris, silver spirals

Off tomorrow!

Day 51: Hot, sunny, mid 80s; 95 t/a

ASM:  Shannon

HC:  Kaitlyn

Loaders:  Peyton, Jax

1) Slammed at 5:05-5:35; no one came for my o/r; no one came for Code 50s; one of my customers heckled me. Told him there was perfectly good self-checkout at the other end; otherwise, cool his jets b/c I was going as fast as I could.

Diana came down and helped with a few customers, but didn't stick around. I wasn't sure if she was supposed to give me a break, or was there to help.  Kinda pissed me off when she left and I still had a damn line!

2) Slammed again an hour later, and another customer heckled me.  Told them the same thing!

3) Woman needed an a/c unit, but it was over her weight limit to carry. Fortunately, Peyton was able to go get it for her and take it to her car.

4) Learned Brea is leaving us for CVS.

5) Woman wanted a delivery, but pouted when she saw the $79 fee and the fact she couldn't get it until Sat.  Went home and did a PU later.

6) Having a walk-through tomorrow, so Peyton and Jax were busy stocking shelves.

Outfit:  Teal blue tee, long capris, teal danglies

Day 52: Muggy, rain, low 70s

ASM:  Maria

HC:  Kaitlyn

Loaders:  Jax, Kaleb

1) Easier night!

2) Guy was caught huffing compressed air in his car; undercover cop saw him and called fire, police, and ambulance.

3) Dawson's last day

4) Found out Brent made good on his threat to leave, due to them not wanting to work with his schedule.

Outfit:  I Blacked Out eclipse tee, long capris, eclipse danglies

Off tomorrow for FF Art Walk and Saturday Seymore event!

Day 53:  Rare Sun Sunny, low 80s; 108 t/a

ASM:  Shannon

HC:  Austin

Loader:  Joe

1) Knew things were bad when I heard Marilyn page for '2nd cashier to lumber pleeeease!"

2) Hopped on #2 and stayed there for 30 mins, then hopped to #1.....and within 15 mins, the keyboard wouldn't respond.  So back to #2, until Matt and Austin fixed it (Matt blew on it???)

3) Was irritated at 7 when I discovered the coffee carafe FULL...I hadn't had time to check it before I'd taken my break.  We're NOT SUPPOSED TO MAKE COFFEE ON THE WEEKENDS!!!

4) Had 5 customers walk in after 7:30....and three after 7:50!

5) Final customer was checked out at 8:06/

6) It was leave-everything-in-lumber night.

7) Customer told me he needed help, but 'you're wearing a LU uniform, so probably no help either'.  Told him to try me....turns out he'd been given the wrong insulation machine.  I proved him I DID know what I was talking about!

Outfit:  Blessed G'ma tee, long capris, cross earrings
