Currently Reading: Still on Lisa Troy's The Art of Losing. I've made it to Ch. 25, and with fifty pages left, I hope I'm correct about a certain character! I love the humor in this book, and I think I already called it a Recommended Read. If not, I just did! I also received word that last week, I won Dakota Rebel's A Wolf in Men's Clothing over at the RP blog:) I'm looking forward to it; this means I'll get to read two Dakota books this month!!!
Over the weekend, a fellow author emailed me with a question. I wasn't sure about the answer, since I'm still a relative newbie to this biz, so with her permission, I'm throwing this out for expert opinion:
Can an initial 'good guy' hero become the 'bad guy' in a story and vice versa? My gut reaction was 'yes'; it's a plot twist which would certainly create a fresh take on the HEA, and not be so predictable.
I consulted my SIL, who liked the idea. But what's YOUR take? Will a publisher accept a romance in which the heroine ends up with Mr. Unexpected? Or does it just depend on the manner in which it is written?
In other news, I'm back in Indianapolis for the next three days. J is hopefully being released today, and I'm headed to the hospital as soon as I get my internet work finished. So everyone have a good day!

Bad guy turned good guy - yes. vice versa, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on the publisher and/or editor. Remember the reader has to like the hero for it to be believable.
My hero in Research Required started off as a bad boy but turned good.
I'm with Amber. I've seen lots of bad guys turn good, but not the other way around. I guess it depends on how good of a redeemable quailty they had to them.
