Weekend in Pictures

As you can tell, the kids enjoyed the squirt guns...

L-R: Cory, Alicia (under 'attack'), Sara, and Miss Drama Queen.

Dad and I at the race. S didn't want her picture taken, and the other people who shared our box left before I could get any taken of the entire group.

Anyone Jack Nickelson fans? Here he is waving the green flag...

And here he was nice enough to look right at me:) Previous attempts to take this had other fans' hands in my camera lens!

No climbing the fence for Dario...but here he is, posing with his new Pace Car:)

Team owner Chip Ganassi has now made history, since one of his cars also won the Daytona 500 earlier this year! Way to go Chip!

Update on SU:
He goes next week for new glasses, and there is a bit of scar tissue on the 'non-visual side of the retina'. In two weeks, we head to Evansville to have it 'lazared back'. Then maybe he'll be able to return to work.

Remember our trip to the local pool on Tuesday? Discovered W made the front page of the paper as he's coming down the water slide! Two friends have offered to scan the picture for me, so I may have it for your photo enjoyment tomorrow.

Gas Watch
I've posted a 'gas watch' off to the right. With the oil spill several weeks ago, you'd think gas prices would be on the rise....ours shot up .20 at the beginning of May, but have been steadily dropping since mid-May. And why is that unusual? Our gas always gets inflated in May, due to the above-mentioned Indianapolis 500! Our gas is still .20 higher than what my parents paid on Friday, but theirs had gone up .10 when we arrived Saturday night.

Since earlier predictions were $3 a gallon by mid-summer, I'm wondering if that prediction will hold true, or will this debacle in the Gulf make it worse, as well as destroying vacation plans/wildlife along the southern coast?

Why can't they just drop an enormous bottle of Dawn in the ocean? "Dawn takes grease...(plop...oil scatters and disperses...) out of your way!"

You'd think they'd learned about fast cleanup after the Exxon mess back in 1989....

Okay, that's just my .02. I'm going to drink another cup of coffee and monitor the awake kiddies' breakfast intake. There's doughnuts available, and two of the five are still asleep:)
