Saturday: Author Jamie Carie signing copies of her 3rd book, Wind Dancer for me. We were at the Rendezvous, and she signed with an ink quill.
Sunday: Indianapolis 500:) This is (L-R) Raphael Matos, Alex Lloyd (pink uniform), and Danica Patrick.
Lap #137: Fire in Vitor Meira's car. If I'd been thinking, I would have turned on the video feature on my camera. I thought I'd gotten a picture of the flames, but no such luck. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, and Vitor was able to return to the race while his crew cleaned up the mess.
L-R: Rick, his son, Carter, and my cousin Harold (green shirt). Harold and crew arrived right before the National Anthem and left before Helio pulled in to Victory Lane. I hadn't seen him since he was 11 years old, and was disappointed we didn't get to chat or even take a better picture!
Helio climbed the fence right in front of us! This was his 3rd win at Indy.
Helio was thrilled with his new Pace Car!

Me, with my parents. We arrived at the track at 8:30 am, and were not under shade until noon. The race began at 1pm, and we were home by 7pm, just in time to watch the recap on ABC. We got to see all the activity we couldn't see from the front straightaway.
I wore my 'Smart Women Read Romance...and I Write It!" tee, but no one commented on it, so don't know if I inspired anyone around me to take note of the website or not! A kid a few rows in front of me had on his Senior Shirt with the photographer's site on the back. And since my website is still not cooperating, who knows if anyone will try to check it out?
Home Again!
Monday: No pictures, since we all slept late. Ate lunch at Applebee's, bought K some shorts, shoes, socks, and a new T-shirt, and returned home to nap and pack.
Mom had a gift certificate for Amazon.com, so I went online and bought Kelly Kirch's Marriage Proposal (turns out she she didn't know how to order from Amazon, Kell...but it is now on the way!), Christine Duncan's Safe Beginnings, Wendi Christnor's The Water Bearer, and Brynn Paulin's Tribute For The Goddess. I have Brynn's e-copy, but the disk was damaged. K and I drove home at 6pm.
I'm off to do Laundry Goddess duties. Spouse was laid off Friday, so he's home and we hope the hall calls him for another job SOON! Kids still have school today and tomorrow.

Sounds BUSY!!!
It was busy, but there was a lot of downtime, esp at the track before the race. And S and W were home with their dad, so they got to spend some quality time together.
