The Idiot and I were at a standstill. On one hand, I had moved him out of my apartment and when I retrieved my key, he was furious. On the other hand, one of my neighbors had a somewhat attractive relative visiting, so I tried to put The Idiot out of my mind with the visitor's attentions.
The Fourth of July, I went to my aunt's house and had a good afternoon with my family. When I returned home, a friend begged me to go with her to the concert and see the fireworks in Cicero. That was better than sitting around waiting for my neighbors to return, or even taking a chance The Idiot would try to attempt another reconciling. Enjoyed it, but when we arrived home, the REAL fireworks began.
Idiot was still angry about the fact I'd taken my key back, and it didn't help when my neighbors arrived and my new friend tried to defend me. We convinced Idiot to leave, and J took me to the local bar to let off some steam. Two days later, I said goodbye to him and went on with my life. I had no idea this was to be a turning point.
In Case You Missed It:
MIL passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon. Today we meet with the funeral director and making arrangements. Thank you soooooo much for the cyber hugs! I probably won't be back again until Mia's Terrific Tuesday Interview, so play nicely while I'm gone.
And scroll down for the Christmas In July contest info.

Oh honey. I've been out of the loop. I'm so sorry to hear of your MIL's passing. Hugs and much love to you all.
Thanks Reg...hubby's taking it awfully hard. His father passed in 2000 and he's hardly slept this week. Thank god for Hospice Grief program...I might have to call them after the funeral on Tuesday.
