Did You Hear...

A ten year old boy has been banned from his Little League Baseball Team because he's too good? I'm shaking my head.

The kid can throw a 40+mph fastball. Seriously...they had one of those gadgets on the Early Show that measured the speed of the pitch.

I say, let the kid play! And now he's been on national television, somewhere there's a major league manager with his eye on the kid's progress...

Not much going on right now. I meant to post that story earlier this week and forgot about it. Have a happy Sunday and enjoy your day off tomorrow. As a mom and a writer, I'll be doing the usual Monday things. Except now, I won't be sleep-deprived.

Until the man goes back to work.

Or I do...

I'll mention it to my husband the umpire who knows all those rules. he's the walking encyclopedia of softball and baseball. We have girls age 12 pitching 50+ mph. My daughter pitches over 40 mph. Are you sure that's all his speed is?

I bought DD#2 one of those softballs that counts the speed. They cost about $30. on any baseball sight online.

DH said it's because the boy's talents was a threat to the president of the league's team going to the Little League championship, so he made up that bogus rule and threw off the kid. DH says the boy who was thrown out wrongfully would be within his rights to sue and that he should win. I know softball seems to be quite political in our town and hubby won't let our daughter play for one city league anymore because of it. Now I have to drive further so she can play.

He threw a 54mph one on the news:)

And with the 3-inning rule, they should have let him stay. It's not like he was their only pitcher! I don't see how a talented pitcher would be a threat to the championship...sometimes the league presidents have a hidden agenda. I know ours did several years ago.

They should let him play. Think how good the batters will be if they all learn to hit his pitches.
