Brief Recap:
Double-elimination happened! Christmas sent Jason out the door in a tie-breaker; Alex won the HOH and nominated Kevin and Raven; Raven was sent home. New HOH was played; we THINK Josh won.
Rumor Confirmed:
Josh did indeed win, but only because Paul and Kevin threw it to him.....after Kevin initially tried to win.
Emotionally, Josh was all over the place this episode. He wondered if this was his chance to take a shot at Paul, but nominated Kevin and Alex. HOWEVER....we think, by watching BBAD, that Kevin has possibly won the POV, which means either Paul of Christmas would be put up in his place. I'm betting Paul goes up.
But, I watched the last half hour of last night's BBAD, and now I'm wondering if Paul won the POV? K and Josh were talking about the challenge, and K says he took the longest, due to his color-blindness. So????
D's going to stay up tonight and watch BBAD. He'll let me know if any more info is mentioned.
There are pros and cons to having a spouse hooked on your favorite Guilty Pleasure.....one the one hand, he doesn't gripe anymore about me watching it. Plus, he watches the after-show, and lets me know about his suspicions. On the other hand, I've now watched more BBAD than I've EVER wanted to watch!

Hurricane Irma Watch:
Irma came ashore in the Keys, and went up the west coast of Florida. Came ashore again on Marco Island, west of Naples. My Uncle Bill decided to stay, as did my Uncle Ed and Aunt Judy in Ft. Myers.
Will is holed up in his girlfriend's apartment, and "has plenty of beer', according to family reports.
Guess that's all you need for a Cat 4 hurricane; plenty of alcohol.
Irma came ashore as a Cat 4, was downgraded to Cat 3 in Naples, and by the time she was terrorizing Bradenton, Cat 2.

Hurricane Harvey:
Don't think I mentioned this one; Harvey hit Texas 2 weeks ago and 'drowned' Houston with 51 inches of rainfall. The joke:
"What do you get when you name a hurricane after a man?"
"A storm that wanders all over the place, doesn't ask directions, and causes a lot of damage!"

Flashback Friday: Head Slap Moment
Sept 1977:
Another 6th grade development: New principal, Mr. Price. Goodbye, Mr. Kendall. Also, new PE Teacher, Mr. Z (can't remember his last name; we just called him Mr. Z....and boy was he cute!).
I had an embarrassing moment: We were picking holiday committees, and I had already decided I wanted to be on the Christmas party one, but my name was called first, and my brain locked up! For whatever reason, I got confused and thought she wanted me to PICK the people I wanted on the committee, but Mrs. Light grew angry with my confusion and wadded up my name and threw it away, saying, "Make up your minds about which party you want to plan." She moved onto someone else, leaving me on the verge of tears and positive everyone was making fun of me.
Our School Pictures that year had a new background, bookshelves:)
Granddaddy fell ill and had to have surgery. He had a heart attack while in the hospital, and Grandma and Grandpa Grauel flew home to be with him and Great-Grandma Geis. He passed away Sept 30th, much to everyone's shock.
I was devastated. This was only the 2nd family member I'd lost in the past year (Mom Katzenberger had passed several months earlier, but we only saw her maybe once a year), and while I wasn't particularly close to him, I do have fond memories of him.
He was pretty gruff, hard of hearing, and smoked cigars. Probably the reason I was slightly afraid of him; my voice was small, and he couldn't hear me. He'd say to us, "Twooooo minutes! Twooooo minutes, and I get the yardstick!"
My sister wasn't afraid of him, and spent one afternoon snapping a purse closed in his face; he played along and acted surprised and shaking his finger at her while she shrieked with laughter. I never had the guts to do anything like that.
Next Month: Funeral and Fun in PE!
***********
Present Day:
We've been doing some more work on the green house! Moved 2 stoves out of the front room, and shuffled things around. Emptied the room off the bathroom/patio, and pulled out a warped headboard; metal head/footboard; shelving; BBQ pit; and several 45 records, including 4 Frank Sinatra, 2 Della Reece, Fats Domino, and one Ray Charles:) Hopefully they're not TOO damaged; I'm hoping to try them when my stereo is hooked up.
Karaoke:
Did well last night, even leaving my phone in the bathroom. Didn't notice it until I was 6 blocks from home.....needless to say, I got my exercise last night!
Tomorrow:
Not Gonna Be the One-ONJ
Nothing Compares 2U-Sinead O'Connor
Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You-Glenn Medeiros
November Rain-G-N-R
Nothing But A Good Time-Poison (with Bill!)

Blindsided! #BB19
Brief Recap:
Christmas is HOH and nominated 'Jalex'....Paul won the POV and pulled Alex off; Christmas put up Kevin in her place. 'Jalex' thinks Kevin is the target, so nice and calm. Josh starts to stress over having to send Jason to the Jury house.
Julie revealed it was double-eviction night! Jason is sent out the door, much to his surprise. Angry, he stormed out, then asked Julie if he could go back in 'for just 5 more minutes'.
"For everyone's safety, I think you're better off out here."
During the goodbye videos, Josh tearfully told him about the plan. Paul, not knowing this, lied about it, leaving Jason fuming that he'd been duped.
HOH/POV/Eviction:
Alex won the HOH and nominated Kevin and Raven. Josh won the POV, but left the nominations the same. Paul and Christmas voted Raven; Josh threw his vote to Kevin.
Raven was also stunned when she found herself going to Jury.
Special Announcement:
BB Celebrity will be played this winter! Whoo hoo! Not sure if they mean veterans or actual celebrities....hopefully no Kardashians! Please god, no!

Shut Up Josh....#BB19
Brief Recap:
Due to Puppet Master Paul, Christmas, the one with the broken foot, managed to win the BB Track Meet. She nominated Alex and Jason.
Alex couldn't remember if she was supposed to throw the POV comp, so she and Paul ended up going six rounds in a tie-breaker before she answered differently from him, and lost. The star of the new sitcom, Me, Myself, and I hosted, and now Paul and probably another guest of his choice, will get to go backstage at a taping of the show. Since Josh is a HUGE fan of the guy, I hope he is chosen.
I did have some respect for the guy; he's hip to the fact that everyone is blinded by Paul, and not thinking for themselves!
Josh Starts To Freak Out:
Jason tossed out a casual teaser to Josh..."So I guess you and Christmas are in an alliance..." which, btw, was totally off the cuff, but Josh began to wonder if Paul was throwing him under the bus. He whined to Christmas, who tried to reassure him, but J wasn't listening. C then 'scolded' him and pretty much treated him like a child, instead of pulling him up to the HOH room, locking the door, and telling him the strategy. Instead, she left the room when Raven wandered in, which left him feeling like a hurt 3 year old.
Later, up in the HOH room, C and P tried again to reassure J, but by now, the guy's worst enemy is his head. He's so much into himself and his pity-party, he can't think straight! It was probably very theraputic Monday night on BBAD, when he 'vented' to the camera and talked about everything he suspected Paul of doing. He's right on some accounts, and very wrong on others.
Paul used the Veto on Alex, and Kevin went up, pissing off Josh. So who will go home, Jason or Kevin? Will it be a tie, broken by Christmas? I soooooo want Kevin to go home!!!!!!
Double Eviction Night Ahead!
Will it be Jason, followed by Kevin, or Kevin, followed by Raven? Tune in tonight!

SERIOUSLY??? #BB19
Brief Recap:
Matt was sent packing; rain delayed the HOH competition.
From watching BBAD, we "know" that Christmas is the HOH and Paul has the POV. We just don't know how it happened.
BB Track Meet:
Okay; I'm confused. A foot race? How can Christmas win a foot race?
Paul reveals his 'master plan' for either Josh or Christmas to win the next HOH. Alex said she'd throw it ONLY if Kevin did it first. Paul managed to convince Kevin to throw it, then got Alex and Raven on board. Then they took their positions.....and wondered how to make it look convincing.
They didn't.
Kevin false-started.....then Alex did the same.....followed by Raven. Paul executed a sloppy (okay, ALL of them were sloppy, no matter how they tried to appear otherwise!) and was eliminated, leaving Josh and Christmas. She wanted to race, and told Josh to trip. But he decided to do a stupid trip-false-start, and so yes, the girl on crutches won a TRACK MEET!
Calming Down Kevin:
Paul convinced K to lay low, but when he did his daily walk around the yard with Jason, he began to wonder if he was the target, since J seemed to think so. Back to Paul, who says otherwise. Esp when he caught Alex, Josh, and Paul 'celebrating'. Paul assures him the plan will be revealed soon; just stay in your room, read your Bible, and in essence, shut the hell up.
Honest vs Sneaky Game:
Alex volunteered to be a pawn. Now, be straight up about it and nominate Jason, or be sneaky and nominate either Josh or Kevin? Christmas decided to be honest, and Jason was shocked to see his face on the wall. He's not too happy, but there's still the Veto comp. Again, we 'know' P has it, but we'll wait and see!

Last Showmance Broken Up....For Now #BB19
Brief Update:
Jason holds all the power-HOH and won the POV Wednesday. He royally pissed off the entire house, sans Kevin, by keeping his nominations the same.
'Maven' Explodes
Jason seems to be experiencing some temporary Big Brother amnesia. We all heard him whisper to Raven he would pull her off. When she confronted him about it, he first 'hid' in the storage room, then claimed he didn't remember saying it. Raven was furious and in tears; Matt went on the attack against Jason, calling him a coward for hiding in the storage room, then calling him out for his broken promise. Later, when tempers cooled, Matt revealed he'd done it strictly to paint the target on his back, and off of Raven's.
Round #2 arrived when Christmas, Kevin, and Josh got into it over Kevin's loyalty. Christmas and Josh confronted Kevin about the $25 K which brought Paul back into the house. Kevin denied it, but wouldn't swear to it. However, he DID swear on his kids' heads about not being one of the rogue votes, which pretty much confirmed he was $25K richer!
Eliminated!
Bye-bye Matt....have fun in Jury and see you again later this month.
HOH Comp.....delayed?
Rain caused the competition to be delayed, so we'll find out Sunday, or try to figure it out from watching BBAD.
See you back here on Monday!
