Life In Lumber: Y5, W44

 Day 184:

Arrived and took over for Cindy (Kem's in MN). Was busy all the way through 8:30!  Took my lunch at 5. Did the prelim duties, swept some of the floor, and pulled the trash. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; Loader A took the trash around. HC Kait cleaned me out; clocked out at 9:20.

ASM SW and I 'swapped places' after lunch, since he tried to put my vest on while I was at lunch!  He and ASM Alex came down; I promptly handed the doorknobs and paint to him and told him to take them with him.  Alex laughed!

Outfit:  Red Sarcasm tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, silver spirals

Day 185:

Arrived and took over for Cindy; did the prelim duties, fronted the soda, and rang up a few customers.  Two of them, I don't know where my brain was; guy (wearing Polo!) handed me $250; for whatever reason, I rang it up as $225, then had to have HC Kait open my drawer.  Two customers later, guy hands me a $20; I rang it up as $16!  Geez....I blamed the Polo, lol....anyway, went to lunch at 5 and everything went smoothly from then on. Pulled trash at 7:30; swept the floor; mucked the mats at 8:30, and locked the doors after the final customer at 9. Loader A brought in the concrete; I took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Plumbing and Fashion Bath. Clocked out at 9:30.

Took 3 doz M&M cookies and they were a hit!  Brought home 3.

Outfit:  Blue Christmas sweatshirt, new faded jeggings,LJs,  thin gold hoops

Day 186:

Arrived and took over for Shelby.  Did the prelim duties, and things were slow for the first 2 hours (it snowed this morning). SM J came down; I told him there were no cookies today, and he 'fired' me, ha ha! Was busy until 7, when I swept and pulled trash, then called HC Britt to see if I was getting any sort of break.  Madi came down, but said she was scheduled to leave at 8, so I took a 20 min break. Afterward, I finished pulling the trash and mucked out the mats. Did my LU. Jase (newly certified) brought in the concrete at 9; I'd locked the doors after the last customer left at 8:57. When HC Britt came to clean me out, I took the trash to the hopper, then put up my vest.  Clocked out at 9:35.

Got a compliment:  Two men were checking out; I asked if they had any special NYE plans.  One says, "He needs a date" and looked at me.  I said I was married, and he replied, "Sorry buddy; I tried."  LMAO!

Finally broke down and called Vincennes Ortho about my left knee. Right knee was acting up a little tonight also.

Outfit:  Red 'Its the Most Wonderful Time Of The Year....Allegedly" tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 187:

Arrived and took over for Cindy, who was VERY HAPPY to see me:)  Did the prelim duties, jokingly told SM J I 'needed rehired...with a raise!" (he laughed!), and asked ASM SC for more hours. He challenged me to get 5 surveys, but the QR code didn't work, so I just asked EVERYONE to help me out.  Hopefully 5 did...I get a GC if I accomplished it! Went to lunch at 6, and when I returned, began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30, sanitized the registers and mucked the mats. Locked the doors at 8:57 and after HC Kait cleaned me out, took the trash to the hopper and put up my vest. Clocked out at 9:20.

I'm off tomorrow!!!

Outfit:  New b/wh buffalo check shirt, new faded jeggings, LJs,  black danglies

Day 188:  Rare Sun NYE (2-6:30pm)

Arrived and took over for Austin; did the prelim duties and fronted the soda.  Was fairly steady; went to break around 4:20, and when I returned, pulled trash and swept. Final customer walked in at 5:58 and left at 6. Loader Jax took the trash to the hopper; I locked the doors and ASM SW brought in the concrete. HC Kayla cleaned me out; put up my vest and returned an item to Hardware. Clocked out at 6:30, and went to BW3 for my b-day wings.

Outfit:  Gold glittery shirt, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, rhinestone danglies

Life In Lumber: Y5, W43

 Day 180:

Was an hour late, due to running errands with Mom.  Arrived at 5 and took over for HC A. Did the prelim duties and waited on customers, then did the soda count. Incident #1:  Customer asked to cut a 4x4, and was NOT happy when both Charlie and I infomed him we're not allowed to cut those.  Incident #2:  Loader Jax told me there was an injured customer in Aisle 50, so I called ASM M to go investigate. Bella sent me break; I returned items to Tools, Plumbing, and Hardware, then took a pit stop.  B was ringing up Neal, who was the accident victim; he'd whacked his head on plywood sticking out, and was shaky. I made sure he was okay, and told him to take things easy.  Incident #4: Customer's card kept declining, even after double-checking his balance.  Incident #5:  Register #1 malfunctioned during all this, so hopped to #2, and it STILL happened.  Invoiced all but the GC, and sent them up to CS.  Unplugged the pin pad and reset it; rang up more customers on #2, then got back on #1.  After a while, the customers returned, furious b/c 'Robert was rude and dropped an F-bomb'.  I expressed MY shock; customer told me to have a "nice F-ing day" and stormed out.  Come to find out, said customer THREW the GCs at Rob, plus threatened to take him outside, and find his house.  THEN they accused his 'have a lovely day' as 'have a f-ing day' and threw their hissy fit at me.  Rob emailed ASM SCH about his side of the story.

Things calmed down, then Incident #6 happened:  Mr. J had crown moulding which rang up $70; he took a picture of the bin that said $15.  Called HC Brit for an o/r; she called ASM SW, who said he couldn't mark it down that much, but would take off 20%, Mr. J agreed, with the stipulation SW go back and double-check the bin.  SW agreed; Mr. J paid and left.

Incident #7:  Discovered Gabe had left the area before HC A arrived, leaving the registers and doors unattended!  His excuse?  "My shift is over at 4."

Ummmmm.....no, your shift is over when your RELIEF shows up! NOT when your schedule says you're done!

I swept the area, pulled trash, and Bella took it to the hopper, plus all the cardboard. Locked the doors at 9, then waited while ASM SW brought in the concrete.  Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit:  Santa Tree tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings,LJs, stockings

Day 181:

Went in early to not only deliver cookies to the front end as well as SM J, but to get a few items we need, like Command Strips,  3 more pkgs of lights, and another pack of lighters. Clocked in at 4 and did my LU, then Kim paged me to call her. She brought down a bag of white cheddar popcorn:) Took over for Shelby around 4:30 and was busy for an hour.  Did the prelim duties, and the soda count, and remembered I still needed to do my AP4Me!  Got two of them done before HC Britt sent me to break.  Got the trash bags I needed 1st (lg 49"x49") and the medium ones (34"x39"??) and there were no small ones.  Will have to get them tomorrow up at front. Returned and did the rest of my AP4Me, then swept the entire area, pulled trash, and was busy until close.  Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to sanitize and muck out the mats! Locked the doors after final customer left at 9, and waited until Loader A (who shaved his facial hair....I barely recognized him!...to bring in the concrete and take the hopper around before closing the large door. Returned items to Tools, Lights, and Seasonal, and clocked out at 9:30.

Picked up Elaine and went to Ash Kickin' Karaoke over in Bridgeport...had a great time, though my voice is still gone.

Outfit:  Naughty List Again tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, LJs, snowman bells  Left the hearing aids at home, ha ha!

Day 182:  Rare Sat

Arrived and took over for Marilyn.  Reg #1 was out of 1s, 5s, and 10s, so spent the majority of the shift on #2. At my 1st break, I brought back my book and coat; then at 6, Shelby sent me to lunch. Treated myself to McAllister's....brocolli cheese soup and ham and cheese, plus a Brookie. Didn't get my 2nd break. Swept the entire area; did my LU; sanitized the registers and counters. Locked the doors at 9, and returned items to Plumbing and Appliances. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit:  Naughty, Nice, I Tried tee, black l/s tee, new faded jeggings, Ljs, santa hats

Day 183:  Rare Sun Christmas Eve (3-6:30)

Arrived with cookies for us AND the front end; took over for Austin. Wasn't too busy; did the prelim duties and swept. Dawson sent me to break at 4:30, and when I returned,  began sweeping. Had a 'rush' at 5:30; Nate brought in the concrete, and shut the large door at 5:59. There was a customer who pulled in, but never got out of his car. Returned  items to Hardware, Tools, and Pets. Clocked out at 6:15 and went to Sara's for Christmas with the grandkids.

Outfit:  Red Santa shirt with flowey sleeves; black l/s tee, black jeggings, LJs, green jingle bells

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Life In Lumber: Y5, W42

 Day 174:

Arrived with a disturbing intestinal issue; made it safely to bathroom.  Clocked in and took over for Kem, who informed me she was irritated with Gabe; he was reading his book while she was taking care of customers.  She left; G tells me he's taking a break; I handle customers. G returns; at 3:40, I had to return to the restroom.  After I return, G goes again.  At 4, I went back; false alarm.  I return to Pro; G goes AGAIN!  At this point, I was thinking, "Monkey see, monkey do?" Then at 4:47, G announced he was going to go ahead and leave.  Really?  13 mins early?  Fine.  I did the prelim duties and at 5:10, Cindy sent me to lunch.  Afterward, I rang up the rest of the customers, then began sweeping. At 7:30, pulled trash.  8, began mucking out the mats. HC A cleaned me out at 9; I locked the doors and took the trash to the hopper.  Put up my vest and asked Val to return 2 tubes to Paint.  Clocked out at 9:15.

Was PISSED when I found out we're not getting our quarterly bonus!!!

Outfit:  Black/white stripe shirt, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, antique silver/pearls.

Day 175:

Arrived and took over for Gabe.  Did the prelim duties and started the soda count. Kait sent me to break at 6:30 and when I returned, finished the soda count and began sweeping. Pulled trash at 7:30 and sanitized the registers and counters, and mucked out the mats. Final two customers left at 9; after HC Bre cleaned me out, Kait brought in the concrete. I'd already locked the side doors, so closed the large door and pushed the trash down to the hopper.  Put up my vest and clocked out at 9:30.

Was told I need to talk to Holly about my sick days. Also found out we're getting 4 more self checkouts.

Outfit:  Gray sweater, red NHRA polo, dark jeggings, Ljs, small diamond flowers

Day 176:

Arrived and was about to take over for Gabe when a customer asked me about his order.  G didn't know anything about it, so I told G to wait while I went to see if it was staged anywhere. It wasn't, but when I returned, there was a customer in front of #1 and G standing around. I told my customer I'd find someone to pull his drywall, then told G to turn on my light.  I rang up the customer; G left.  I was a little ticked off; couldn't he have rung up the 2nd customer while I was helping #1?  Or did he have a hot date and had to take off NOW??  Just don't get him..

The rest of the shift went smooth.  Fronted the soda, did the prelim duties, swept the area. Olivia sent me to break at 7:30, and when I returned, pulled trash and discovered Loader A had brought my broom up so I could sweep the pile. Mucked the mats and rang up my final customers at 8:55. Locked the doors; Loader A brought in the concrete; HC Brit cleaned me out. Took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Aisle 50, Plumbing, Paint, and Batteries. Clocked out at 9:30 after taking a box of bags to Pro and filling #1 and 2 bags.

Outfit:  Black/gray l/s tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, blue sapphire hoops

Day 177:

Arrived to discover Gabe had called in.  Did the prelim duties and the soda count; by 6:30, I was sweeping. Rider sent me to break at 7, and when I returned, pulled trash, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers. Final customers were at 8:50; locked the doors until they pushed the cart up. Loader A took the trash to the hopper, then brought in the concrete.  HC Britt cleaned me out. After I closed the big door, returned an item to Tools, then put up my vest. Since I'd gotten a credit app yesterday, I 'punched' the Christmas tree and won a screwdriver.  Yay me.....clocked out at 9:45.

Outfit:  Maroon plaid, black l/s tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 178:  Rare Sat

Arrived and took over for Marilyn, who tells me the place just died.  Hahaha....five minutes later, I have a rush. THEN the rain arrived....and the place died.  Had a few customers, off and on, but time just dragged. Dawson sent me to lunch at 6:30 and when I returned, pulled trash and swept what I could in between the rain tracks. After Matt brought in the concrete at 9, I locked the doors, waited for my final customer to unload his 2 carts before bringing them in and locking the large door.  HC Brit cleaned me out, then took gloves back to Tools and put up my vest.  Clocked out at 9:50.

Outfit:  Blue Colts 18 jersey, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, LJs, small diamond flowers

Day 179:  Rare Sun

Was a nice, low-key shift.  Arrived and took over for Marilyn and began ringing up customers. Did the prelim duties, and refilled the bags. Around 6, a customer came in to get his large order both Jax and A were working on. Jax had left at 5, and A had gone to lunch. I called ASM Alex, who came down to see what else the customer needed.  Turned out he was putting it on an LAR, so I took the info and began scanning his lumber on Pro J's register, leaving mine open for other customers.  Dawson came down to send me to break as we were nearly finished. Got the customer rang up and on his way. After my break, I fronted the soda, pulled the trash, and had a surprise visit from Will. Locked the doors at 8, then had one final customer. HC Cam cleaned me out; I took the trash to the hopper. Loader A brought in the concrete; I returned items to Paint and Aisle 10.  Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit:  Mama Claus tee, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, LJs, green bells

Life In Lumber: Y5, W 41

 Day 170:  $7959 (and 3 cents)

Arrived and took over for Val; before I clocked in, ASM SC told me if I got 10 surveys, he'd give me a $25 GC.  So I was (hoarsely) pushing the QR code at everyone.  At the end of the day, 11 customers scanned it, but only 5 came back for their free drink.  So will see what he says tomorrow.

Around 8:15, Jase came down to look for something, so I asked him to watch the register while I took a pit stop.  My energy level tanked, so I only pulled trash and swept, plus did the soda count. Clocked out at 9:30.  Did get my AP4Me and LU done tonight.

Outfit:  Oatmeal sweatshirt, red NHRA polo, faded jeggings, LJs, small crystal drops

Day 171:  $7138

Arrived and took over for Gabe; did the prelim duties and my LU; wasn't very busy, so went ahead and swept the area, and mucked the mats. Things picked up at 6 and was steady, then Jase sent me to lunch at 6:30. Returned and things had died down, so sanitized the registers, pulled trash, and shuffled the soda. After HC Kait cleaned me out, returned items to Tools, Electrical, Paint, Hardware, and Pets, then took the trash to Receiving's hopper, since Loader A took off with ours when I was just about to reach him. Picked up some trash bags for our area, then went up front. Clocked out at 9:40.

Still no voice, and energy level dropped around 8 again.

Outfit: Burgandy sweater, faded jeggings, LJs, silver diamond danglies

Day 172:   They took away our 3.7 screen; I can no longer track my sales.

Called in Wed and Thurs, due to being exhausted and not feeling well at all.  Went in today; voice is still croaky, but at least my energy's back! Went in 2 hours early, and Gabe took advantage of my being there by taking a pit stop 1st thing, then clocking out at 4:30.  I was exactly slammed, per se, but was very steady.  Thankfully, only one person needed an o/r and ASM Charlie was there. Begged for a pit stop around 7, and ASM Shan came down to cover me. Pulled ALL the trash at 7:30 and swept the floor. Final customer was at 8:45; at 9 I locked the doors and fronted the Pro soda coolers while ASM Shan cleaned me out.  I walked her up front while HC Kait was bringing in concrete and 3 others were bringing in carts. Returned items to Hardware, Batteries, and Plumbing, then put up my vest.  Loader Jax had taken my trash to the hopper.

Only had one customer ask if I was sure I wasn't spreading germs; nearly everyone else told me, "Oh, you've got it too?"

Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit:  Red/black plaid, l/s black tee, black vest, dark jeggings, LJs, small gold hoops

Off tomorrow to hopefully bake some cookies!

Day 173:  Rare Sunday

Went in early with 18 choc chip and 18 oatmeal-raisin cookies, then bought GCs for family members, plus a puzzle.  Still need to get lighters, batteries, and more lights for next year.

Clocked in and sent Marilyn on break, then was fairly steady. At 4, did the prelim duties, and began sweeping around 6. Bella sent me to break at 6:45, and when I returned, did my LU and pulled trash.  Brought in carts from the sidewalk. Did the soda count, and nearly unloaded on Bella when she put some of the soda away, then told me she was leaving AFTER she saw me mopping up a mess!  (Frappe bottle leaked).  Locked the doors at 8, then finished putting away the soda. Put up my vest, then put away a leftover Coke and Gatorlyte (that I didn't even NEED!), and retrieved my prize (got a credit app) from the tree.  Won Lip Balm and Brownie Brittle, which I gave to ASM SW.

And another thing; after I came back from break, asked B to take a few items back to Hardware.

"Where's Hardware?"

"Aisle 2...just leave it on the desk."  *eye roll*

Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit:  Blue 18 Colts jersey, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, LJs, treble clefs

Life In Lumber: Y5, W39-40

 Day 164:  $7802

I actually did more sales, but was on Bright's login for about an hour, and Cam's for 20 mins!

Walked into a sh*t show, and it never let up until 8. No staff available to help anywhere, and I think everyone who could operate a forklift went to lunch at the SAME time!  Just very frustrating.  Did get my 15 min break AND my 30 min lunch, so that helped....then Kelly brought down a trash bag that turned out to be a sheet of plastic, so that amused me:)  Had to hop to #2 when #1 tried to eat a check, then went haywire. One of my final customers bought me a candy bar to cheer me up. Returned items to Tools and Paint, then hung up my vest.  Clocked out at 9:30.

Loader Dale NCNS again, so he's quit, which saddens me.  We worked well together.

Thank god I'm off tomorrow for choir practice!

Outfit:  Blue hooded Cabella's sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, small gold textured hoops.

Day 165:  $11,770

Arrived and took over for Cindy; Kem had left at 2. Was slightly busy; the IT guy was replacing the internal components on #2, so when I had to ring up the BOGO tools, had to do it on 3. Did get the soda fronted and shuffled and the other prelim duties finished. Alice sent me to lunch at 5:30, and when I returned, things had slowed somewhat. Did my LU and pulled trash at 7:30, then swept the entire area and sanitized the registers. Returned items to Plumbing, Seasonal, and Hardware after HC Brea cleaned me out. Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit:  Red l/s tee, white plaid fleece vest, faded jeggings, LJs, small gold hoops

Off tomorrow for Thanksgiving!!

Day 166:  Black Friday $10,131

Would have had maybe $500 more, but the tools didn't ring up correctly, and ASM G ended up taking them to SCO.

It's official; my new pain meds cause intestinal issues.  Arrived and had to run to the restroom, then move the car (I'd parked in handicapped) and bring in my purse and water.  I'd also brought in 3 doz choc chip cookies. Jeff even took 2:)  The 1st two hours were enjoyable, then at 5, Amy came down and we swapped customers back and forth.  I did my LU and my credit training, and brought in the carts from the sidewalk. At 6:30, we shuffled the soda and did the count. I took returned items to Plumbing, Aisle 10, Tools, and Seasonal, then took a pit stop and noted the times of our breaks. Turned out I was supposed to have gone to lunch at 5, and break at 7:30; Amy's was at 7. So returned and told her the plan; she'd get her break at 7, and when she returned, I'd take my 30. So that's what we did, and everything was fine. Returned and pulled trash; Amy swept and sanitized. Nanette and Al came and even went over to RK and brought Loader Aaron a bag of popcorn! Final 2 customers arrived; 1 was okay, but the other was a CFH.

-He had carpet, and I asked it if was all the same.  "No"  I found the item # and discovered the same one on the top one, so added 13 plus 11. Then discovered the 3rd one had the same item #.  "I thought you said they were all different."  "They are; one's 13', one's 11', and the other's 10'."  I nearly strangled him.

-He had six DeWalt tools, so had to hop to #2 to ring them up. Finally got ahold of HC Brit, b'c they didn't ring up correctly.  In the meantime, he goes off to get ratchet straps.  I rang up the final customer, then saw ASM G take the tools up front.  Guy says he was told to get a free drink; says he wants Gatorade, but got a Body Armour.  *eye roll*

Also, earlier, needed an o/r on paint on Reg 1, discounted plywood on #2, and rang up a third customer on #3!  Told HC Britt, "You didn't know I could work 3 registers at once, did you?"  She laughed.

Also needed an o/r on discounted delivery; took two managers to get it figured out!

Wore my new antler headband, and one customer asked me if I was 'horny'.

Outfit:  Red Santa shirt with bell sleeves, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, LJs, red/green danglies, antler headband

Day 167:  Small Business Saturday $13,204

Arrived and took over for Marilyn. Was busy for an hour, then did the prelim duties.  Was fairly steady the rest of the evening. D came in around 6, but the tools he wanted, Reg #2 refused to cooperate, so ended up sending him to SCO. Amy sent me to lunch at 6:45, and when I returned, pulled trash and swept. Final customer left at 8:50. Locked the doors at 9; Jax took my trash, and I'd already sent my returns with Katy. After HC A cleaned me out, put up my vest. Oh, and got a credit app, so 'punched' the 'Christmas tree' and won a hat.  Oh boy....I know what my Secret Santa's getting, ha ha!  ASM SC had brought some delicious bread, and I brought him 3 of yesterday's cookies. Clocked out at 9:40.

Outfit:  Mama Bear sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, green Santa hats, antler scrunchie

Day 168:  Rare Sunday $12,917

Arrived and took over for Marilyn.  Was busy for an hour, then did the prelim duties. LG Chris paid for a snack with $100; discovered I didn't have enough $$ in the drawer.  ASM CH came down at 5 just after I brought in all the carts from the sidewalk, and let me make a pit stop.  Called LG C and he came down just as a customer was paying cash.  Gave him his $95 after the customer paid. Started sweeping at 6; Dawson sent me to break at 6:45. Took a dowl rod back, and handed Olivia a screw when I saw she was in the break room:)  Returned and pulled trash. Locked the side doors at 7:50, and left the garage door down halfway, lifting it up for Barry, who was getting carts. Final customer was at 8:05. ASM SC cleaned me out; I put up my vest.  Found the heater I want on Friday for $25. Clocked out at 8:40.

Outfit:  Blue Manning Colts Jersey, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Week 40:

I only work Tuesday, since am off Mon, then off W-Th for the GSH Vendor Fair, and Fr-Sat for the Kris Kringle Market.

Day 169:  $7848

MTD:  126,610

Was scheduled 4-close, but clocked in at 3:30. in order to do my AP4Me and LU, in case there wasn't time to do it.  As it turned out, I had a LOT of downtime.

Arrived and met Gabe, who was there til 5, which turned out to be a good thing, since a customer had an insulation machine, but the hoses didn't fit.  I turned off my light and went to ask ASM Charlie and Pro J about it.  J told me there was a box of brand new hoses in the closet, but I discovered I needed help opening up the door.  C cut his lunch short in order to help me, and together, we made the customer happy.  I returned to my register. Gabe left at 5 and I was busy for maybe 45 mins. Bit the bullet and brought in a few carts from the sidewalk (it was COLD out there; 33 degrees!). Saw Bonus Child AW, who talked to me for about a half hour, and when I got  busy at 7:15, he left. Called HC Bre, since I was supposed to have had my break at 6:45. She came down and sent me for a pit stop.  Returned and started sweeping, then pulled trash. Final customer was 9, and locked the doors behind him. ASM Charlie brought in the concrete; ASM Shan cleaned me out; I walked her up front and returned items to Seasonal, Tools, and Electrical. Took the trash down to the hopper, put up my vest, and took a glass tile back to Flooring.  Clocked out at 9:30.

Off to the Vendor Fair tomorrow and Thurs, then the Kris Kringle Market Fri and Sat!  Probably going to make cookies on Sunday.  Or watch more Grimm....

Life In Lumber: Y5, W 38

 Day 160:  $8813

Arrived and took over for Kem. Was immediately busy, and when things slowed down at 4, waded through 17 emails; did my AP4Me, and started the prelim duties and soda count. Was slammed at 5, and it continued through 6:30.  ASM SC was down there, so I asked him to call HC Bre and let her know I needed a pit stop. She arrived and sent me to my half hour break. When I returned, I finished the soda count, gathered the trash, and began sweeping. Brought in the carts from the porch, and checked out the final customers.  After HC Bre cleaned me out, Reg #3 refused to open, so while Loader D brought in the concrete, I took the trash down and returned an item to aisle 50. Locked the doors, then returned items to Aisle 10, and headed to the break room. One of the other cashiers was heading up front, so I handed off the X-mas lights and put up my vest. Someone needed to stay with HC Bre, so I volunteered and got an extra hour of pay.  Clocked out at 10:20.

Outfit:  Blue crew Cabela's sweater, new dark jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 161:  $10,817

Austin sent me to lunch at 5:30 and when I returned, checked my schedule, cleaned out my email, and did my LU. and began sweeping. Around 7:30, I pulled the trash.  By 8 I was mucking out the mats. Locked the doors at 9, and after ASM SW cleaned me out, and Loader A took the hopper around and brought in the concrete, I returned items to Millwork, Plumbing, Fashion Bath, Paint, Hardware, Tools, and Pets.  Clocked out at 9:30.

Outfit:  Black/white plaid, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, LJs, blue sapphire hoops

Did the prelim duties and swept.  At 7:30, gathered the trash, did my LU, and at 8:30, sanitized the registers. After ASM M cleaned me out, I locked the doors and took the trash to the hopper, then returned items to Drywall, Plumbing, Hardware, and Pets. Put up my vest, then 'parked' two handicapped carts. Clocked out at 9:30, and helped Robert gather the last 4 carts.

Outfit:  Lt gray IN sweatshirt, faded jeggings, LJs, thin gold hoops

Day 163:  Rare Sunday  $9254

Arrived; Bella and I were both in Lumber until 5; I checked the soda count and at 4, she said she'd go fill it.  I was slammed for a half an hour, then did the prelim duties. She never did get to it; they needed her up front. Rider sent me to my break at 5:15, and when I returned, began sweeping. Mucked out the mats, sanitized the registers and counters, wiped off the top of the ice machine, and re-hung a jacket and some Klein tools. Final customer was at 8; locked the doors while HC A cleaned me out, and closed the large door after ASM Charlie took the trash and brought in the concrete. Returned items to Plumbing and Tools, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 8:30.

Almost fell over in shock. One of my contrary contractors, Eric M, told me I was the best. ASM G was behind me, so I jokingly told him to speak a little louder so my boss would hear.  He did, and ASM G AGREED! He also said something else I didn't catch, but as I said, my brain was slightly shocked!

Life In Lumber: Y5, W36

 Day 154:  $8833

Today was slower, due to the colder temps (high 45). Took over for Kem, and Amy was also there. Before she left at 4, she did the soda count. We were slighly busy for an hour, then when she left, I did the prelim duties. Discovered my broom and dustpan were MIA, so did my LU and AP4Me. Kel sent me to lunch at 6, and when I returned, fronted the soda, rang up customers, and at 8:30, pulled the trash. My final customer was at 9:30; Loaders D and A took the trash at the same time. Did one of my training refresher courses and locked the doors at 10. HC Cam cleaned me out; Loader A brought in the concrete; I returned items to Plumbing and Electrical before putting up my vest. Clocked out at 10:20.

Had a strange episode around 3:30-ish; all of a sudden I got light-headed and dizzy.  Put my head between my legs for a few moments, then was all right.  Thankfully, it never returned!

Outfit:  Halloween shirt, black l/s tee, black jeggings, skeletons

Day 155:  $10,968 (and 6 cents)  146,746/mo, 29,616/wk

Arrived and found Kem already leaving; Adrianne was there:)  She gave me a keychain of Big Ben and a pound note. A was in the middle of an 8-cart order, so I hopped on #2 and rang up several customers until she finished, and we swapped back and forth. She left at 4, and I did the prelim duties, hopped to #1, and fronted all the soda. Brenda sent me to break at 6:15, just after two complicated orders....one customer had 42 bags of insulation, and the other had 20 bags of concrete. When I returned, things slowed down. I swept, mucked out the mats, sanitized the registers, and pulled trash at 8:30. Final customer was at 9:30.

Had 4 trick-or-treaters, and at 9:50, brought in the cull cart. Locked the doors at 10, and Mgr Charlie brought in the concrete.  After HC Cam cleaned me out, I took the trash to the hopper and put up my vest.  Clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit:  "Betsey Ross" outfit, with spider headband, l/s black tee, and black jeggings underneath my Rendezvous outfit, and carried small USA flag.  Skeleton earrings.  Next year, Deaf Leopard??

Day 156:  $9996; 156,743/mo

Was slightly late getting to Lumber, due to figuring out what to do in LU that was required!  Told the new HR girl, Holly, I'd do it during my downtime.  When I got there, K was already gone, but Marilyn was on #2.  Hopped on 1 and we traded back and forth.  She left at 4 and I did the prelim duties, then started on my LU path.  Had to watch 5 vids, then take a quiz, of which I only missed the final question (still passing!). HC B sent me to lunch at 7:15 and when I returned, pulled the trash, swept, mucked the mats, and sanitized the registers.  ASM A bought me a candy bar and Bright a Monster. Locked the doors at 10 and while HC B was cleaning me out, took the trash to the hopper. Loader A brought the concrete in, and got a compliment from Loader D when I told him I'd be gone the next 2 days.

"Oh crap....they don't run this area the way you do.  How long you going to be gone?"

Thanks D! Clocked out at 10:20.

Outfit:  Blue/white sweater, new faded jeggings, sapphire hoops

Day 157:  Rare Saturday  $8874

Arrived to discover we begin closing at 9.  One of my customers was wanting to make a payment, and Austin P wasn't sure how to do it, so I took over.  Then Al showed up and handled him, and asked him to go get the batteries I needed.  He did, and Chet and Marlene also showed up.  Then things slowed a bit, and I was able to make copies of the new soda count, and my sneak peeks. Was busy from then on, and things slowed around 8. I got the floor swept, then was sent to break. We didn't have any large trash bags, so brought down the square ones. After my break, emptied the trash and fronted the soda, and filled the bags. Walked HC Cam down front after locking the doors, then deactivated TWICE an unruly tool turtle. Took back the returns, then put up my vest and took the loading ticket and tax exempts to the front. Helped Marilyn move 15 carts to the front entrance, then relocated 10 of them around to the back. Clocked out at 9:40.

Bought a pink Kobalt toolbox:)

Outfit:  Blue crew neck Cabela's sweatshirt, red NHRA polo, new dark jeggings, sea horses

Time changes tomorrow, and I start my vacation on Tuesday!!!

Life In Lumber: Y5, W35

 Day 150:  $14,908 "Pink Day"

Arrived and helped a customer with the downspouts, then took over for Kem. Was busy for 2 hours, then did the prelim duties. Was sent to lunch at 6, and did my AP4Me as soon as I clocked back in. Did the soda count and started sweeping, plus mucked out the mats. Fronted all the soda, and when Kel brought it down, she filled it while I went on break and cleaned out the coffee container. Came back; sanitized the registers and counters. Sent Loader Jax down with the trash at 9:50, then locked the doors at 10. Put up my vest and took the expired soda down to RTM. Clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit:  Shaun tee, gray/pink 'Mama Bear' sweatshirt, dark jeggings, pink danglies

Off the next 3 days, unless they call me in (I told them to call me in Tues!  Wed, I'm doing Ned's laundry and some yard work; Thurs is choir practice).

Day 151:  $4521 "Superhero Day"

Discovered today was Mgr Jess's last day.  I'd hugged her yesterday and told her I'd keep her and her dad in my prayers.  She appreciated it:)

Was called in to work at 5; took over for Dawson, and immediately had 2 'special' customers....one was a Pro who wanted the Pro $20 delivery fee, and the other was a phone order.  Was steady until 6, then did the prelim duties and fronted all the soda. Started sweeping at 7, and was sent on my break at 8. Came back and finished sweeping, then pulled trash. Loader Dale locked the side doors and brought in the concrete; my final customer was at 9:30.  Did my LU, and sanitized the registers. HC Cam and Kait cleaned me out, then told me about the new policy of keeping some funds in certain registers, so the morning crew has it already.  Whatever.... Returned items to Tools and Paint and put up my vest. Clocked out at 10:15.

Had to chew the loaders out; I'd called for a Code 50; no one came.  Paged for Lumber Associate to #1; Aaron continued to flat stack.  A customer complained the three of them (not sure who all was involved) just stood around talking while she struggled to load a heavy board, and never once offered assistance.  Dale's excuse was he was in the training room, catching up on his AP4Me; Aaron claimed he hadn't heard me page.  Aaron's also PO'd at either Will, Charlie, or Wyatt, for not doing more during the day.

Outfit:  Yoda tee, dark jeggings, Mickey Mouse

Off until Friday!

Day 152:  $12,250

Arrived and took over for Kem Was busy for an hour, then did the prelim duties. Found out 'more than likely' Mgr G will become the ASM, and Mgr Ian will take over Pro, with ASM Shaun taking over Appliances, and Chris back over LG.

WHEW!

HC Cam sent me to lunch at 5:30, and when I returned, helped her ring up the large order for Matt...$6K!  Hopped to #2 while they pushed all his carts out of the way, then got back on 1. Fronted soda and swept; final customer was at 9/ Sanitized the registers and counters, did my LU. Loader Dale took my trash and brought in the concrete.  Closed the large door at 10 and clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit:  Blue sparkle blouse, new faded jeggings, copper and larimar ovals

Day 153:  Rare Saturday $9816

Arrived and took over for Austin P, and was busy for 2 hours. Did the prelim duties, and was sent to lunch at 6. Got my evaluation from Shannon:  "Molly does very well on the lumber end of the store; she knows her customers and checks them out friendly and quickly; She asks the prompting questions, such as EPPs and her monthly rating shows it; she needs to remind customers to complete the surveys and ask for 10s; I would like to see her get more credit apps aswell; she does complete her trainings on time with little follow up; she comes in when we are understaffed and she is appreciated for that."

Afterward, I began sweeping, then got on a survey kick.  ASM SC told me if I got 2, he'd give me a FitBit, and got my next 3 customers to do them, even getting a 4th one a few mins later.  So I guess I'm getting a FitBit....

Sanitized the registers, and after Loader Charlie brought in the concrete and set the safety pallets, he took my trash down while I closed the large door and returned items to Tools, Aisle 9, and Hardware.  Clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit:  Gray IN sweatshirt, new faded jeggings, sapphire hoops

Off tomorrow!

Life in Lumber: Y5, W34

 Day 146:  $10,849  "Pink Day"

Was 45 mins late, due to Taco's vet appt.  Verdict:  Allergies.  He got a shot in the butt, had his temp taken, and was told to continue giving him the meds from last year.  He weighs 14.8 lbs and is due for his heartworm test in Dec.

Took over for Brenda, who was VERY happy to see me, and promptly got 2 'special case' customers...both for beadboard. Fortunately, I knew where to find the code! Did the prelim duties and started the soda count. Bella sent me to lunch at 5:30, and when I returned, finished the soda count and began sweeping. Put the soda away; pulled trash; did my AP4Me and LU, and sanitized the registers and counters.  Didn't have any customers from 8:15-close. Locked the side doors while Mgr Charlie brought in the concrete; Loader Dale took my trash after we hauled in the cull cart and closed the large door.  ASM Sh cleaned me out and brought down my Front End Appreciation Backpack, with a travel coffee mug and Milk Duds inside, plus a nice note from her and Mgr SC, Returned items to Electrical, Lights, and Seasonal.  Clocked out at 10:30

Austin P is going to take my shift on Friday, so I can travel to Memphis!!.

Outfit:  Dark gray/white striped sweater, dark jeggings, 'Beach' danglies

Day 147:  $8887  "Super Hero Day"

Arrived and hopped on #2 to help with the line, then finally got back on #1 around 3:30! Did the prelim duties and fronted the soda; did my LU and got a credit app. Patty sent me to lunch at 6, and when I returned, swept the entire area; mucked the mats; brought in the trash, and did the soda count after finding out Corporate AND Regional were arriving in the morning.  Helped Bright with a complicated order; the dishwasher wouldn't cooperate when it was keyed in; wanted to be delivery or pick up later. Finally, B scanned it....went right through!  Weird......HC K opted NOT to fill the soda, and after Loader Dale brought in the concrete, locked the doors and closed the large door at 10.  HC K cleaned me out; returned items to Aisle 21, Plumbing, Electrical, Tools, and Hardware.  Clocked out at 10:30.

Outfit:  Star Wars tee, red l/s tee, dark jeggings, Darth Vadar

Day 148:  $14,041 "Wacky Socks"

I forgot to wear my SW sox.  In my defense, I had to be up early and dressed by 10am, in order to set up at a local event, and I forgot about it.

Arrived and took over for Kem, who informed me the coffee maker broke. Did the prelim duties, then the pinpad on #1 threw a fit, so was on 2 while I unplugged it, let it sit for 5 mins, then reattached it.  Then, it worked fine! Fronted the soda, and at 6, called down to see if someone could cover me for a pit stop.  HC Brea said I was supposed to have gone to lunch at 5...oops! Loader Dale covered for me, then a few mins after I returned, Dawson sent me to lunch.

Side Note:  Our Regional director insisted the boxed display of soda be moved behind the counter and out of the center of the walkway in front of the Pro desk.  Well now, it's blocking my access to thr trash can AND the EAS system!  The walk-through went fine, thankfully!

After I returned from lunch, I swept the floor....and discovered Loader D had borrowed my dustpan.  "I'll bring it back..." Uh, no, he didn't! Fortunately, I have a small handheld one. Did NOT get the mats mucked for that reason; I got it after taking the trash to the hopper. Sanitized the registers and counters, and two customers bought me 3 musketeers candy bars.  One even told me, "I came down here b/c you're THE BEST CASHIER THEY HAVE!"

Awwwwwe.....thank you!

After locking the side doors around 9:30 (and after pulling all the trash!), Loader D brought in the concrete. At 9:50, he watched the register while I took another pit stop, then let him outside   and shut the large door.  HC Cam cleaned me out; I took the trash to the hopper and returned one item to Aisle 19, and another to Electrical.  Clocked out at 10:20.

Outfit:  Teal patterned l/s tee, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, small gold hoops.

Off tomorrow for Choir practice, then off Friday for my Memphis trip, and off Saturday for the signing.

Day149:  $5705  Rare Sunday "NFL Day"

Arrived to discover I was 90 mins early.  Oops....helped Austin in Lumber and let him take an extended break. At a few mins til 5, I took a pit stop, then was on my own. Did the prelim duties, fronted the soda, did my LU, swept, and read three days' worth of emails. Jace sent me to break at 6:30, and first I collected Mgr Charlie's book from my car; he paid me $20 for it and told me to keep the change. Found out ASM Jess is leaving soon to be her dad's caregiver; there's a rumor Mgr G's going to take over her job.  Not sure how I feel about that yet....

Locked the side doors at 8 and rang up my final 2 customers, then shut the large door.  After HC Kait cleaned me out, opened the door again so Loader Aaron could bring in the concrete.  Closed the door and put up my vest.  Clocked out at 8:30.

Outfit:  18 Colt's jersey, black l/s tee, dark jeggings, small gold hoops

At 5, Madi sent me to break, and afterward, I fronted soda, swept, sanitized, and had nearly everything done by 8:30. Pulled trash, and did soda count. Didn't have any customers after 8:45. Wiped off the top of the Pepsi cooler and the ice machine, mucked the mats, and when HC Bre cleaned me out, swapped my returns for the soda.  Put them away, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 10:35.

Day 144:  $10,176  "Wacky Socks Wednesday"

Arrived and was surprised to see Marilyn at the register; K is off for 2 days. Managers have been announced; ASM Jess is now over Pro/Lumber; Mgr Chris B is now ASM:)  Did the prelim duties and LU, fronted the soda. Had to jump on #2 when the pinpad malfunctioned; reset it, but the register didn't want to work. Stayed on #2 the rest of the night. Bella sent me to lunch at 6, and when I returned, fmr loader Al was there, but didn't check out through me. Swept, mucked the mats, sanitized the registers and counters. Final customer was at 9:15. At 9:30, locked the side doors for Loader D to bring the concrete. SM J surprised me by offering a slice of pizza; he watched the register while I went to CS and got 2 slices. At 10, closed the large door; D took my trash.  HC Kait cleaned me out AND informed me she's going to LG next week. Returned a pipe to plumbing and a gate latch to LG.  Clocked out at 10:30.

Arrived and hopped on #2, to help with the line.  K left at 3:30, and I got back on #1. Things were steady until 4, when I did the prelim duties. HC Brit sent me to lunch at 5, and when I returned, the rain was almost happening. It arrived soon later, and the place cleared out.  Swept, mucked out all the mats, did my LU, and requested Nov 15th off (mom's hair appt). Pulled trash at 8:30, and final customer was around 9, when their paint fell off and spilled. ASM SC and I cleaned it up. Locked the outside doors; Loader Aaron brought in the concrete; closed the big door at 10. Clocked out at 10:25.

Outfit:  Red/black plaid, faded jeggings, antique silver pearls

Off to Indpls and VoltCon tomorrow!

Life in Lumber: Y5, W32

 Day 139:  $9728

Arrived at 4 and immediately was asked about a damaged garage door. Tried to find someone, but no one was answering their phones. Finally found Mgr G who 1st said, "I'm not here..." but after explaining the issue, he took care of it. Hopped on 2 to help Meredith with the line, then took over for her. Was busy until 5:30, then did the prelim duties and LU. Went to lunch at 6:30, then swept the area. Pulled trash at 8:30 and mucked out the mats. Sanitized the registers at 9 and did my AP4Me. Filled the soda coolers. Locked the doors at 10, and final customer left at 10:05. Told Ben I was NOT going to charge him 12 cents (he'd paid $69 on his card, then all but $.12 on a gift card) and shooed him out the door with his receipt.  HC B cleaned me out; I waited while Mgr CK brought in the concrete.  Loader Jax had already taken my trash to the hopper.  Clocked out at 10:40.

ASM SC came in..."You DO exist!"

"For that comment, you DO work w/o your phone!"

*clutches chest.* "Ahhh!"

LMAO!

Outfit:  Blue LU tee, dark capris, Yukon Tartan buttons

Arrived and took over for K. Discovered #1 was out of 1s, 10s, and 5s, so hopped to #2 until after 5, when ASM Shan remembered I was in need. Learned HC Cam called in, and Brit was on her way in at 6:30. Did my LU, prelim duties, and swept. Called HC Brit at 8 and asked if I was getting a lunch break, and would only take 30. She sent Ryder down at 8:20. Returned items to Plumbing and Tools, then clocked out for lunch. Afterward, pulled the trash, sanitized the registers and mucked out the mats. Final customer was at 9:30. Loader D and I brought in the cull cart; Loader Jax took my trash down.  Mgr Charlie brought in the concrete, and I locked the doors. HC Brit cleaned me out; I returned items to Paint and Hardware. Clocked out at 10:25.

Outfit:  Blue/white stripe tee, dark capris, dangly Yukon Colors

Off till Sunday! Tomorrow, gonna go to Pantheon at 11, do laundry, watch SVU, and get DYL ready, as well as create the Tales flyer. Thurs, off to Lafayette. Fri, it's the First Friday Art Walk. Sat, it's the GSH Pet event at the park.  Hoping to drum up business for Tales and DYL launch.

Day 141:  Rare Sunday $12,390
Arrived, and took over for Marilyn, just as Kate arrived to take over for Dawson.  I went to #1; K on 2.  I rang up one customer, then had to help K with Enrique's tax exempt. Ended up texting Pro J for the info, then got him rung up and on his way. Things were slow, so I rinsed out the coffee pot and consolidated the trash.  K was called up front, and was busy after that. Got irritated at Loader Jax....he refused to take the large flat carts down, apparently misunderstanding my 'aisle 18' instructions. He didn't take my trash. He keeps putting empty soda bottles in the clean trash cans. New ASM Alex showed him how to use the saw, but when another customer needed wood cut, he said he didn't feel confident.  Sent Nate back there. The guy's just immature.

After work, went out to K's and relaxed by the bonfire.

Outfit:  Blue 18 Colts jersey, black l/s tee, faded jeggings, small gold hoops

Life In Lumber: Y5, W31

 Day 134:  $1435

Knew I wasn't feeling very well, but thought I could tough it out. Took over for Kem, and let HC B know I was dealing with a finicky digestive system. She left Cindy with me, and sure enough, at 4:30, I had to make an emergency pit stop.  Knowing C was leaving at 5, I called ASM SC and told him I needed to go home.  Clocked out at 4:50.

ASM K left at 3:)

Outfit:  Gray LU Plank tee, faded capris, small flower diamonds

Day 135:  $6404

Felt 100% better today!  Hopped on #2 to help with the line, then took over for Kem. Rain hit for 45 mins, and things slowed down. Did the prelim duties at 4, and Marilyn sent me to lunch at 5. Came back and swapped out the batteries from 1 and 3, since I don't particularly like #2. Swept the area at 6, mucked out the mats at 7 and did my LU. Pulled trash at 8:30, brought in the cull cart at 9, and locked the side doors at 9:45 so Loader D could bring in the concrete. Shut the large door at 10, and after HC Cam cleaned me out, went to Receiving and got more large trash bags. Clocked out at 10:30.

ASM K left at 3:)

Outfit:  Gold tee, faded capris, small flower diamonds.

Tomorrow:  Off to Lafayette:)

Day 136:  $14,352

ASM K QUIT!!!!  OH HAPPY DAY!

Apparently on Wed, she came in, said "F*ck this" and went home.  The entire store cheered! (not really, but at least most of Pro did!)

Anyway, clocked in at 2:10 and took over for Kem. Did the prelim duties and LU. Was fairly steady, and didn't get my 1st break. Austin sent me to lunch around 5:40, and when I returned, things had slowed down. Swept, rang up customers, pulled trash at 8:30. HC B sent me to my break at 8:45, then had me do soda count. Didn't have time to muck the mats or sanitize. Locked the doors at 10, and returned items to Hardware.  Clocked out at 10:20.

Outfit: Blue Vancouver Aquarium tee, dark capris, sea horses

Day 137:  Rare Sat $6214

Arrived and discovered I wasn't due to be on the clock until 5:30.  Oh well....clocked in and went down, chatted with Merideth, did my LU, fronted the soda, and returned items to Paint, Tools, and Aisle 10.  Took over for her at 6, and my 1st customer decided they didn't need the faucet or the duct work. Grrr... anyway, shift was good. Did the prelim duties, swept the entire place, and at 7, HC Cam sent me to break. Returned the faucet and duct work, and when I came back, continued sweeping, mucked out the mats, and sanitized the registers. Pulled trash at 8:30, and at 9:30, ASM SC handed me a service star, for coming in extra hours and on my days off.  Then had an issue with an order and joked he was going to take it back!  LOL...but the issue was soon resolved. Steve, who was working in Tools, brought in the concrete at 10 after I locked the doors.  ASM SC cleaned me out, and clocked out at 10:30.

Heard a rumor that ASM K was about to be fired, and that's why she quit.  Not sure how true it is.

Outfit:  Rob Strong tee, dark capris, small textured hoops

Day 138:  Rare Sun  $9815

Arrived and did my LU, then went down and helped Austin with the line.  Took a LG cart back; tried to help another customer in drywall. Austin left at 4, and we were steady all the way til 6. Took my break, and came back and swept the floor, did the prelim duties, pulled trash at 7, and mucked out the mats. Sanitized the registers and counters, plus pulled everything off the Pepsi cooler and wiped down the top. ASM SC cleaned me out; I returned an item to Plumbing, then took carts to LG, brought back a regular cart, and cleaned up Aisle 15. Clocked out at 9:05.

Outfit:  Marvin Harrison jersey, dark capris, small gold hoops

Life In Lumber: Y5, W 30

 Day 130:  $7371

Arrived at 3 and Brenda was already in K;s place, but she was happy to see me.  Hopped on #2 and helped with the line, fronted the soda, did my AP4Me and LU. Took a quick pit stop at 4:45, and when B left at 5, hopped on #1 and the pinpad froze until I rang up everyone in line.  Used Jeremy's register for cards.  Finally unplugged the pinpad and rebooted it, and it worked fine from then on. Did the prelim duties. Had to do a refund/rebill, when a customer didn't have enough on his card.  ASM S came down and did it.  Austin sent me to break at 8, and then I did the soda count and began sweeping.  A returned and put the soda away, I pulled the trash, mucked out the mats, and sanitized the registers and counters. Loader D brought in the concrete at 9:30 (he leaves at 10) and Loader J took the trash down.  ASM Jess cleaned me out at 10, and returned items to Plumbing and Electrical.  Clocked out at 10:30.

Am worried about HC C; she never returned from lunch.  Also found out someone else quit after their 1st break.

ASM K left at 3.

Outfit:  Red LU tee, new capris, small textured hoops

Day 131:  $9628

Arrived and had a chat with ASM Shan about my schedule.  Took over for Kem, and got hit with an intestinal issue 30 mins later.  Pro S watched the register for me. Things settled down, and Olivia sent me to lunch at 5:30. Returned and did the prelim duties, and swept the floor. O returned again at 8:30 for my break, and afterward, pulled trash, mucked the mats, did my LU, and sanitized the registers, Loader D brought in the concrete; I locked the side doors. He took the trash and left at 10; my final customer left at the same time; I closed the large door. ASM Sc cleaned me out, and I returned items to Tools and Electrical, then put up my vest. Clocked out at 10:30.

ASM K left at 3.

Outfit:  Black Alaskan tee, new capris, small gold hoops.

Day 132:  $9980

Arrived and took over for K.  Did the prelim duties at 4, and after a small rush at 5, Meredith sent me to break. When I returned, fronted the soda, printed out my paystub, did my LU, and began sweeping. Olivia sent me lunch at 8, and when I returned, pulled trash and sanitized.  Loader D brought in the concrete; I locked the doors and brought in the cull cart. Final customer left at 10; HC B cleaned me out; went out in the parking lot and retrieved 2 carts, then closed the large door. Took the trash to the hopper and returned an item to Plumbing, then put up my vest.  Clocked out at 10:20.

ASM K was off:)

Outfit:  LJHS band tee, faded capris, treble clefs

Day 133:  $9917

Arrived and took over for K. Did my LU, then the prelim duties at 4. Rob sent me to lunch at 5, and when I returned, worked on my short story and rang up customers. Did the soda count at 7:30, and put them away at 8:30. Pulled trash at 9 and spot-swept, then sanitized the coffee bar. Locked the side doors at 9:30 so Loader D could bring in the concrete, and after HC B cleaned me out, shut the large door and returned items to Plumbing and Electrical. Clocked out at 10:20.

ASM K was off:)

Outfit:  Vegas Indian Motorcycle tee, faded capris, silver and sapphire hoops.

Off to Gas City for the weekend!

Life in Lumbert: Y5, W 29

 Day 127:  $11,260

Arrived and took over for Kem; was instantly busy.  Did the prelim duties at 4, and HC C sent me to lunch at 5:30, and requested I only take 30 mins.  Returned, and had to do one phone order, plus figure out what the customer was talking about!  Finally figured out she was talking about the LCA. Didn't have anyone from 7:30-close, so swept, did AP4Me and LU, pulled trash, and sanitized the registers.  Locked the doors and returned items to Electrical, then straightened the carts in #19 and 20, and waited for Mgr Ian to bring in the concrete.

ASM K called in again.

Outfit:  Blue LU, new capris, sea horses

Day 128:  $9577 (even!)

Day began on a somber note, as I went to Bill's funeral. Arrived and took over for K, and was fairly busy for the 1st hour.  Did the prelim duties, and the soda count. Steph sent me to break at 5, and then to lunch at 7.  Swept and pulled trash, then sanitized the registers.  T surprised me be showing up; I wasn't busy, so we chatted for a few mins. Did my LU; locked the doors at 10.  Mgr Charlie brought in the concrete, and I took the trash to the hopper and returned items to Aisle 52 and Millwork.  Clocked out at 10:25.

ASM K has CV!

Outfit:  Teal Lularoe, new capris, small gold hoops

Day 129:  $ $7815

Arrived and watched HC K learn the register. Kem left at 3, and I hopped on #2. Was able to do my LU and check my email. At 5:30, HC K went up front, and Austin sent me to break.  Came back and did the prelim duties. Isabelle sent me to lunch at 6, and mildly drove me nuts with her 'I don't know how to page...' I don't know how to look up credit cards...' But when I returned an hour later, she had discovered she LOVES being in lumber!  So I showed her how to do the pop count, and she went to go get it. I swept the area, mucked out the mats, and sanitized the registers.  Belle returned and we put away the soda. Locked the doors at 10; Mgr G took the trash and brought in the concrete.  Returned items to drywall and hardware.  Clocked out at 10:25.

Felt as if I'm trying to catch something all afternoon.  Probably gonna call in tomorrow.

Outfit:  Blue Vegas tee, new capris, silver chains

Life In Lumber: Y5, W28

 Day 122:  Labor Day $11,030

Arrived at 3 and took over for HC C (Kem left at 2:30), and my 1st 2 customers were short with me.  A) Said they had half inch OSB, but it was marked 19/32.  Rang them up for the half inch, then told them to go get the correct ones.  "Your lumber guy put the wrong ones down."  B) Says he wants 10 80lb concrete, and 'You'll have to get a lift." Me, assuming he's looked in the aisle and not outside, asked if he knew we had some outside. "Yes, and I TOLD YOU you're gonna need a lift!"  Okay, okay...geez, buddy....is my head still attached to my body?  *eye roll* Fortunately, Loader W walked by and told him about it.  Was fairly busy from 3:30-5, even needed several o/r for the display tools marked down 75%, then was able to get the prelim duties done, and another 'wave' came.  Kel sent me for a half hour lunch at 5:30, and when I returned, was swamped again until 7, when things finally slowed down!  I needed another pit stop, and when I returned, found my dustmop in the far closet. Got the entire area swept and the soda count done (Corporate comes tomorrow). HC C brought the soda and I put it away.  Did my LU and AP4Me and mucked out the mats, then pulled trash, sanitized the registers and counters. Had one customer at 9:30. Loader AM took the trash, brought in the concrete and blocks.  I locked the door, then returned items to Plumbing and Fashion Bath.  Put up my vest and clocked out at 10:30.

ASM K left at 4.

They also catered lunch in for us; chicken and steak, tortillas, salsa, chives, queso, shredded cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, chips, and cookies.  I had 2 plates of chicken, cheese, and sour cream, and smuggled some tortilla chips down to gnosh on while I worked.

Outfit:  Black blouse, dark capris, red 'rock' danglies

Day 123:  $5638

Arrived slightly late, due to making the quinoa bites for Mom tomorrow. Took over for Pro S, and did the prelim duties, then was fairly busy.  Hurt my back at home before, but toughed it out, and was incredibly sleepy.  I blame the Benedryl I'd taken for itchy, swollen eyes. Josh sent me to lunch at 6:30, and took about a 15-20 min power nap, which helped.  Also discovered we had the large trash bags in stock again, so got a roll to take to Lumber. After clocking back in, I started sweeping, and we really weren't that busy. Filled the soda coolers, pulled trash, did my LU, and mucked out the mats. Sanitized the registers, and filled the bags. After HC K cleaned me out, Loader AM took the trash and brought int the concrete and blocks. Returned items to Aisle 21, Plumbing, Tools, and Hardware.  Put up my vest and clocked out at 10:20.

ASM K left at 3:)

Corporate walk-thru:  We scored an 81, which is good:)

Outfit:  Gray America tee, dark capris, circular 'Florida' danglies

Tomorrow:  Off to Lafayette!

Day 124:  $9105

This is a hard post to write.  Was driving back from Lafayette when HC K called.  Bill Temple passed away either last night or this morning.  I was in shock and had her keep talking to me until I could safely pull off the interstate.  Pulled into The Beef House parking lot and cried, prayed, and posted about losing a friend on FB.  After regaining my composure, I took off again.

Arrived at work and was all right until ASM J asked me how I was doing, and I teared up.  She hugged me for a few seconds until my composure returned. Nobody's sure of what happened, if it was a complication from the kidney stone surgery, or sepsis, or if he had another heart attack.  I'm hoping to find the obituary and go to the showing and/or funeral.  In fact, when I logged in and explained why I was clocking in at 3, I posted "RIP Bill Temple....really enjoyed working with you."

Shift passed by in a blur. Went to lunch at 5, and when I returned, did the prelim duties. Swept the place at 7. Pulled trash at 8:30 and mucked out the mats. Sanitized the registers and counters at 9. Locked the doors at 9:55 (didn't have any customers past 9:15). Loader E took the trash and brought in the concrete; I shut the large door and returned a wall plate.  Put up my vest and clocked out at 10:20.

ASM K left me alone for the most part.  Heard her say she's off tomorrow!  Whoot!

Outfit:  Purdue tee, dark capris, small diamond hoops

Day 125:  $9987

Arrived to discover Loader E had quit, due to being written up by ASM K and Mgr G for 'not making more of an effort'.  BS....he's one of the hardest working associate I've had in 5 years!  Wish I could lodge a formal protest...

Was very busy, but did manage to get the prelim duties done, the soda count finished, and only made one MAJOR rookie mistake:  Customer got 8' deck boards; I forgot to scan the 20% off coupon before running his card, then as he and Dale were going out the door, he informed me I'd charged him for the 10 Ft ones!  I apologized profusely and told him to take the survey and complain about the ditzy cashier!  I then called HC C and asked when I was getting my break; I was clearly in need of one.  Amy came down about 5 mins later!  Afterward, I swept, put away the soda at 7, pulled trash between 8:30-9, and sanitized the registers.  Locked the doors at 10, and new Mgr Charlie brought in the concrete and took the trash.  Clocked out at 10:25.

ASM K was off!

Outfit:  Brown blouse, dark capris, brown dream-catchers

Tomorrow, off to Fowler, then to Teays River for MHS get-together!

Day 126:  Rare Sunday $8187

Arrived and hopped on #2 to help with the line. We were busy!  Marilyn left at 4:30; Katy took over. She went to lunch at 5, and at 6:30 (when people stopped arriving!), I did the prelim duties, then realized K should have returned. Called HC C; K came down to give me my break. When I returned, started sweeping, then was slammed again. Finally at 7:15, I was able to pull trash.  Final customer left at 8; I locked the doors. HC C cleaned me out, and I took the trash down, then returned items to Plumbing. Mgr Ian asked if anyone was willing to stay to help clean up Lumber (Loader J had left at 5); me, Theresa, and Olivia went down. I straightened carts; swept aisles 18 and 19; retrieved 2 carts from outside; and helped T clean up the back aisle.  Clocked out at 9pm.

Discovered Bill's showing/funeral is Tuesday, beginning at 11am in Carlisle.  Personally, I think the entire Pro/Lumber area should be closed for the day.

ASMK called in sick:)

Outfit:  Manning Jersey, new capris, blue danglies.
